Mk5 Crew cab recovery

Postby Wildy » Wed Nov 25, 2009 11:31 pm

This was how my truck looked after buying it from another member on here.

Image

It definitely needed a tidy up. The chassis and bodywork were solid enough, just tatty. When a friend who owed me a favour or two offered to spray it for me I took up the offer.

Image

Stripping complete and into the booth.

The day I picked it up, stilll a lot of work ahead

Image

Into my workshop for fitting up. In the meantime I picked up and stripped a Turbodiesel van. From this I took the engine and gearbox, wiring loom, electric windows, central locking, air con, seats and dashboard. I also found a heated screen and had that fitted as well.

Image

And now its time to use it!

2260kg give or take a few on the bridge. Not bad considering the spec.
