My mk6 Transit. Colour change???

Postby m99abe » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:48 am

Had it a nearly a year now, not done nowt with it bodywork wise, I let the winter have a chew at it and since tax out now its off the road now and not going back on till bodywork fresh and finished. Have not got any ideas set in stone but more than enough of them to hopefully make a nice van!!

Started on the o/s step and arches and sills last night, treated this morn, going to stone chip this afternoon when wifey gets in from graft

Image

The step join to inner sill had rotted away due to the rubber door seal being damages and holding water.

Image

Slither of metal spot of welding and like new!!! Plenty rust treatment going on!!

Image

Holey arches!!!! Bit welding and filler this afternoon then!!!

Plenty rust treatment and stone chip to try hold it back.

Not had much time but done a few jobs the day, one of worst parts of the days corrosion was the roof seam, stooopppppiiiiidddd idea total lack of sealer here.

Starting to look a little sad now.

Well thank you, roof and a pillar trims and number plate\handle going anthracite just to break it up, just need to convince meself this is the right colour, as I can do it any colour I want! Even looked at black chrome!!!! Now that would set it out from the rest. But really happy with colour and it standard ford shade which makes me happier 2
