id be worried if something had been dumped in the oil as well...
have you tried dropping the oil out the sump to see if it has any form of thickness to it??

I think its sick when people tamper with other peoples kit..

used to use my bike for work but people were always doing stuff to it so sort of lost interest in it..

thanks guys
not managed to start stripping the engine yet hopefully it will be in a bit if i manage to get chance.
the oil still looks clear, but the engine is still quite tight to turn by hand and there sounds to be a squeak coming from 1 of the cylinders like a metal on metal squeak.oil pressure seems ok,i have removed oil the plugs and filled each cylinder with new engine oil and spun the engine for 10 mins on and off without the plugs.
but theres still no change it starts up on all 8 cylinders but then cuts and struggles to spin the engine over as if the battery is about flat

i may know a bit more this afternoon

hi
no its not the dizzy ive had it out god knows how many times trying the timing at different points
its like theres no oil and its metal on metal squeak like fingers on a chalk board.
its hard to describe and quite tight to turn over by hand.
but ive primed the oil but im unable to test the oil pressure because my gauge dont work.but i could feel the pressure build up when priming it also i did it with the rocker covers off to check it was flowing..
the engine was running fine just needed the idol doing so i got on with the exhaust then a mate said he hadnt seen it run so i went to start it and it wouldnt it would only do what its doing now..i put it down to being out of fuel as the fuel gauge was reading red but theres over quater of a tank...

all i managed today was to take off 1 rocker cover, throttle bodie and dizzy
before the neighbour wanted to go shopping just for a change like
so im still none the wiser

when i came home i arranged with a m8 just up the road who has a farm for him to take it there in the morning and ill do it there in his old barn and ill work on it there everyday and through the night untill i have it sorted.
because it just aint happening here. that way im uncontactable and i know for sure its not being tampered with........

just a thought if tsi slow to turn over and sluggish whislst dsqueaking a lot but is the water pump siezed cause of what they dumped in the engine?? or maybe just the impellor siezed and the negine is actually turning the input shaft inside the impellor making the racket and causing hideous drag

hi
no its not the water pump thats driven off the crank by a belt and i slackened that right off.as i did think it was the pump at first when it was squeaking

but thanks anyway

hi all
right ive been working every day and through most nights since sunday. to find what had been done to the engine.
what i discovered luckily before it was too late is what seems to be sugar or something in the oil that had thickened it up like treacle and blocked the oil filter and pump and the squeaking was the engine close too seizing.
ive flushed the engine, replaced the oil,oil filter, took out all the plugs and filled each barrel with oil.
i then turned it over by hand until the squeak had gone.
i stripped and cleaned the oil pump and unstuck the oil pressure releif valve and got that working freely again.
also filled the oil pump with vascoline then primed it through and got an oil pressure gauge!!!!
i now have oil pressure!!!!!! :D
put it all back together set the timing turned it over and its very nearly there batteries flat so hopefully i should have it running in the morning...i need sleep
its looking up

then its payback

Sorry to here of your woes D ive been following this thread since i signed up and must say you are seriously devoted (should call you Dangerously Devoted lol) Its a shame you get fookbags like that,we had a spate of it round this way with gutless eejits doing anything they could to motors just for fun i think, there were a lot of folk with expensive repair bills, makes you wonder sometimes it really does.
Im glad you got to the bottom of it before anything serious was damaged,
Good luck mate and remember what goes around............
Payback is pleasent but making sure they loose what they love is much better imho :D
I got my own back on a little scrote round here who was causing me major headaches, found out what motor he HAD and where it was normally parked and oddly enough it went missing, and so did the one after that, strangely enough it all stopped after that cant think why???

Dave you need a award for putting up with the local idiots let alone what you have done to your van, but trust me they will get what they desevre sooner or later, for example had a idiot try and push my girlfriends ka off the road in his r32 golf, even though she had nowhere to go, and she wouldn't let me out of the car on the dual carraige way to teach him a lesson  but a few weeks later he ends up getting into a fight and ends up getting killed, and no i had nothing to do with it but it proves you will get whats coming even if a bit ott.
