No, sorry. Haven't touched it since that last photo. It still looks exactly like that. The weather is just too cold still. Plus I haven't found another spring hanger panel so it looks like I'll have to make one up.

I also had to drain the coolant out of it because I couldn't remember if I put any antifreeze in it.

I've now bought a LWB Iveco camper that someone has already converted to a camper at a very high spec. I haven't got room for both so unfortunately the Transit will have to go.

If anyone locally is interested in buying it and finishing it off please get in touch.

I feel your pain mate , I bought a bodged mk4 camper from a dodgy guy on the isle of Arran in Scotland , its a lot worse than yours in terms of rust

It actually had 10 months mot ! I bought it in the middle of a storm with a bad hangover and drove it back to glasgow in the pissing rain with no windscreen wipers ,the next day I had a proper look and I was gutted , sat on my driveway for a month

The interior was just as bad , ripped the whole lot out in anger ! it sat on my driveway for over a month before I even went near it , never welded before in fact only changed a wheel for the first time last year , but now 7 months later I've got tools and a welder and I'm starting to patch it up , replaced the rear wheel arch so far and started on the step

I've started on the interior too , I'm finding it a bit overwhelming sometimes but I am making a bit of progress now and again , currently I'm making outriggers from sheet steel and attempting to weld them in , upside down welding under my van is not fun ! But necessary , I just hope I can get it through an mot !

So I feel your pain mate , it also looks like you've got some skills there

I second that, I do feel your pain. My transit has been a nightmare in terms of rust and mechanical issues. I'm still working on it 3 months later and still needs work. Your van is a good looking van even with the gold, it looks funky. Good luck with the project and i'll be keeping an eye on this one.

It does get overwhelming. I remember sitting down working how much I could get for the parts on my van with my head in my hands and a distant look in my eyes. I got the burn marks from the mig welder on my hands, face, neck etc. I'm sure we can all show our burn tattoos someday when all the welding is but a distant memory.
Now i've finished the welding on mine, i'm glad I had lifted myself up and kept on with it. Keep with it, the hard bit is the welding, once that's done, then it's fun from then on.

Sadly there will be no more updates to this thread. I sold the van for £300 today to someone who is going to break it

It's a real shame after all the work I've put into it and I've lost a fortune of money on it.
