Reckon mondeo v6 ecu would run that at a push if firing order same as jag!

Could simplify things a bit using ford ecu but would it loose power over the jag ecu s ?

Yeh thats the plan, keeping an eye on ebay for a good priced v6 cluster

Yeh after much debating between me and luke im probably going to go down the megasquirt road, with reguards to ecu. The jag management is just to far integrated into everything, ms should be a nice simple install and will still be able to keep the vvt, only thing I'll have to change is the throttle body from elec to manual.

With some tubular manifolds and stainless system further down the road and a proper set up on a rolling road it should see 250+ bhp

Has been raining most of the day up here and all the interior from the jag is stored in the van for the time being so not wanting to get wet (and not wanting to be arsed too!) I made a start on the rear seats/frame :)

Bit of fettling may be able to make the leccy throttle open by cable if the actuator can be removed to leave a shaft you can put a quadrant on and cable to pedal... just a thought

What about a pre pats ESC ECU from a mondeo V6, vvt is apparently just a live feed at the correct rpm so you could probably creatively bodge that, you could keep the all the injection gear that way, not sure if the mondeo ECU is hack able?

Even eec v can have pats deleted and auto box deleted from pcm.... at least as you say could botch a trigger for vvt like a switch on pedal like a kickdown switch or rpm window switch or even a shift light to trigger it!

I was actually thinking of that the other day! The motor/actuator is quite big that drives the tb and the tps os on the opposite side, I'll have to look into it more ;)

Its not as daft as it sounds, its basically the same engine so should have the same firing order etc as the ford duratec, im not sure of the pats etc but yes the vvt is just an on/off signal at a given rpm so with megasquirt its just a programed output at whatever rpm you like

Tis a thought, the reson im looking into ms is the tunability, way way way down the line I was thinking low boost turbos, but thats just an idea atm, pedal switch isn't a bad idea though ;)

Bit done on the van tonight..........YES THE VAN!

On another note, picked up a divers side seat frame to fit in the passenger side for a single seat and won these on ebay, 1just needs a sand blast and the others a light refurb and re drilling.........happy days! :D

Few pics from last night, seats and floor matt out, started to trim out some rust on the passenger side wheel arch, started drilling out spot welds on the wing but will just chop it out when it comes to it, im now wandering tho if im gonna make north weald due to the extra work but i'll give it a shot!
Picked up the wheels today so at least thats a step in the right direction!
