Thanks Resto, I found a tin of white Hammerite in the garage so going to use that as I've already got it as I'm on a budget this month and need a couple of new tyres as well

We'll today was spent getting a couple of new tyres and continuing with the floor, first job was scrub the floor mat because it was filthy!
Whilst that was drying I gave the cab a quick Hoover out and then it was time for some sound deadening stuff to go down

Image

I used this stuff
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251336535477? ... 26_rdc%3D1

Don't know how good it will be but my thinking is something is better than nothing.

Then I was interrupted by my daughter school phoning wanting me to pick her up early as she want feeling very well, was quite well timed though as it gave the mat time to dry.

The mat went back in next
Image

Cleaned up well but the holes on the drivers side let it down, shame they're not available new any more

Then the seats went back in

Well I've been avoiding the things that I should be doing to the van, mainly welding new passenger wing etc and have been doing a few other bits instead...

Fitted some mondeo vanity lights and put led bulbs in them

Mini led spot lights in the cab

Lights off

Fitted a little cubby hole thing in the spare space under the stereo, liked this one as it closes

Also took the 2 flouro tube lights out of the back and have replaced with led lights, forgot to take a picture though
These are the old lights

Lookin Good Dogster 8) Mat looks good (despite the holes in the drivers heel pad) you could bond a piece of cut rubber from a cheap mat set onto the "affected" area :?: it would do till you find a new one (still turn up now and again) or a good used one (ive just got hold of a used one less than a year old with no wear £30 :) )

Soundproofing material looks like good value (not the best/thickest but cheeeeeeeep at the price £22 for a 16ft roll delivered :) ) and as you say, its got to be better than none at all so I'm having some of that :)

Yeah the mat scrubbed up quite well, have ordered one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT- ... 4aa3c3eadf

Will put some foam in the holes and then put the carpet down.

As for the sound deadening, no definitely not the best or thickest stuff but compared to the price of dynamat etc then I'm fine with that  That 5m roll was just enough to do the cab floor so I'll order another few to do the rear when I get that far. Might even take the door cards off and put some in the front doors as well but we'll see about that

Hoping to start on replacing the passenger side inner and outer wing and arch next week, bought the panels from Tim ages ago and they've been up in the loft since then.

Need to get a move on as the other half is getting a bit narky about me using the car all the time

Remembered to take a picture of the lights in the back tonight

Image

And yes I know it's a sh*t tip in there at the moment

Image

Need to tidy the wires up a little bit and move the switch as I didn't think about it when I fitted. Wasn't until tonight when I needed to turn the lights on and couldn't reach the switch that I realised I put it in a crap place!

We'll today I decided to get my finger out and actually do something with it today, there's plenty of jobs to be done!

First job was the gear box oil, bought the oil about a year ago  the old stuff was pretty dark and manky
Image

Then I took the propshaft apart to replace the bearing, the old one came off in pieces  but I forgot to get a replacement bearing and the of course the local ford dealer parts dept closes at lunch time  . Getting a ford one as I'm hoping it will last longer than the last one.
Image

Then thought it would be a good idea to take the front apart to start replacing the wings, bumper and grill.
I've got a new bumble, grill, and passenger side wing, inner wing and sill panels.
The passenger side is definitely the worst side.

Have been busy with the grinder today,
Image

Image

The wing had obviously been replaced before as it was pretty much just stuck on with seam sealer  was only welded on at the slam panel and a couple of plug welds near the A pillar, on the plus side that made it pretty easy to get it off

Might as well replace the battery tray while I'm at it
Image

Also got around to swapping the passenger side rear door, I got a replacement about 18 months ago and only sorted it a couple of months ago
Image

Colour match is a bit off but that may also be down to the rest of the van being filthy

Wasn't much left of the inner wing

And that was before I cut any of it out

Just found a roll of wire in the garage as well so can get a bit more done this afternoon if I get work finished early enough
