Ah all my fault then! Did you mean Ant? There's an ulterior motive to getting the taxi back on the road, Ant needs to borrow it (off to the nearest rank at bluewater then is it   ) whilst he is welding his hi cube....

not much progress has been made recently, i have been very busy (not just Freds) ive even managed to squeeze a few electrical repairs in between the welding jobs
But my brother has managed to get a couple of pictures of 3001 taken in 1979 at the Ally Pally show:

Finally got some pictures showing the interior,
the July 1979 Street Machine magazine article that i first saw 3001 a space ODDITY in.
though the write up contradicts some of the things i've been told about the build.
another thank you to Mark (the same guy that provided the photos above)
click the images to see the full sized pic.

it will be capable of going under its own steam but without radical mechanical changes it will not be suitable for long journeys

Too much tyre wear?
Seems a shame to have to trailer it about. I can't see it turning up as regularly. :(
I guess it would keep it in better condition though. :)

not exactly it dont like going round corners, with those big wheels.

if its trailered about it can attend more shows because it wont mattter about the mot tax etc. or even if it is roadworthy at the time
and i thought an A series of similar age would make an ideal transporter for it and can be on show as well 8)
