got hold of a drivers side wing now all i need is another and my transit can fly :lol: :roll:
only surface rust, no major work to be done (phew :lol: )

had a quick chat on the phone to the guy doing the work on the van and....THE VAN NOW HAS MOT!!!!!
finally! thats the news ive been waiting for :mrgreen:
came back with a vew advisories -
rear brake pipe slightly corroded
battery insecure ?? :lol: :roll:
exhaust blow
clutch pedel anti slip rubber (thats what the guy said on the phone) - i assume he means the pedel rubber?
so YES now i have to get it registered..any thoughts as to how, i know i have to get a date letter from ford but how do i go about that?

it could help if you had the paperwork with the date of the van on it ,but maybe you will be ok!
you need the mot ,reg fee and some forms to fill in i think its a v55 but not 100% shure! :wink:

the date of the van is on the plate in the footwell - it dates the month and year

they can inspect all they like - all numbers match ect ect - i hope they dont mind a bit of rust here and there lol

having said that my friend bought a landy with no paperwork - had a good number on it but theyre going to give him an age replacement one :evil: :lol: :roll:

i dont have the sheet with me but from memory it said somthing like -
not registered in the uk yet
but i think the chassis number is on there

the guy has MOT'd lots of vw campers not registered yet so he know what hes doing

i now have a V4 engine :mrgreen: (minus the gear box and carburetta) :roll:
its a 1968 corsair unit rebuilt to transit spec (didnt know they where different)
aparently because of the alternator being different on older models i have to have a different controle bord of some kind :?:

its the same as madmarks engine in BVG 22E (above pic)

my question is can i use my existing gear box or do i have to find a english one

you will need a english gearbox and propshaft :wink:
