yeah i know what to check now but i cant remember if i looked at it before  - its a solenoid in the box - i checked the feed definatly but i can't remember if i checked the ground as its done by the ecu - i think it might be this what isnt working - hopefully i didnt test that last time as i would have wrongly assumed that as its ecu controlled it was working ok

just wish i'd found this before i dropped the damn box

well................................ i've found the problem    3 boxes later it was the torque converter lock up solenoid not getting a correct feed from the ecu - ive yet to sort it fully - ive just been driving it round with a wire loose that i just touch on the dash to pull in the solenoid but its working  i think it was me removing the traction control that has caused it but i need to do a bit more research before i can be sure but.............. NORTH WEALD HERE WE COME 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

just been reading back a few pages and nearly a year and 3 gearboxes ago i was onto the right thing
Luke on 4th Aug 2012 wrote:update :!: still not right  pritty sure the problem is wiring related re. the autobox - i think its the 'lock up solenoid' you can be travelling at 50mph boot it the box kicks down the engine revs up but there's little increase in speed :!:

sounds loud without the exhaust on the wastegate

got the rev counter working today 8) also fitted a boost gauge, did a few practice runs and it's not perfect but good enough to put a big smile on your face

sort of ready for north weald  - some odd stuff going sometimes it pulls like a train sometimes it seems to make a lot of noise and not be particuarly fast but i've got a better idea nowof whats happening as ive got speedo (acurate too  ) and temp gauge and boost gauge all wired in - i think there is more to go with the van but if i can beat my old time i'll be happy for this run :D
also put a temparary wastegate pipe on and spent 3 hours fitting the bumper back on - it meant re-mounting the radiator but it does look so much better now

bad................

managed to get over 50mph this year tho - 89 mph over the line was good tho but 17.89 wasnt

i think i was loosing boost through the wastegate but ive blanked it off tonight and its not that much better - the main problem is i cant spin the engine fast enough to make any boost off the line and the lag is killing it  i need a higher stall torque converter and/or better tyres :|
or a manual box :(

and i forgot............. last run we had an electrical issue in the line up rushed to sort it got to the line forgot the bonnet wasnt closed set off half way down the strip it flew up - 1 new bonnet reqd :x
