i couldn't fit the twins in the engine bay guy had to go single

get the small one fitted somewhere and some pipes

i would have to direct the flow through it to spin it up 1st - i could just fit some nitrous

this is my plan for the spec, going to use the small one strait onto the manifold and then remotely mount the big one

on the plus side on the drive down and back home it was great 70-80 no problem revs at 2500rpm @70mph loads quieter than the cossy was

been reading about using nitrous on the supra forums but i wonder if i could do that idea using just compressed air

like a soda stream bottle or a small welding bottle?

Did you read my post reference "bang bang" theory, this changes ignition timing to produce combustion in exhaust manifold, thus spooling up turbo before launch. Would have thought some kind of second crank sensor or delayed circuit could be rigged up to try it out ?

yeah i did ......... still am

problem is 99% of the time the van will be driven nice and steady on the street - i'm thinking this is a bit too much hassle too complicated to give decent reliability

That's what I was thinking, just activate for 1/4 mile launches. A magnetic reed switch is easy mod for 1st gear sensing, then just something to fool the timing, but make sure your exhaust clamps are on tight

progress since weald it was suggested to sort the van out one option would be to get it on a rolling road, so i thought if i'm going to do that i would get the charge cooler fitted and piped up the top water pipes were all in temporarily so while i'm doing the charge cooler piping ive got all the hoses to do that

the charge cooler is away being welded together, i've cut it up to get a better smoother flow, it should be done next week.

while i was looking over the engine i noticed a pipe at the back of the plenum wasnt connected to anything and never has been since i've put the engine in its about a 6mm bore pipe so it could account for a lot of the lag i'm suprised it even ticked over

quite looking forward to getting the charge cooler back now to see how much difference blanking this pipe off has made

yes definatley 2 different issues

Been a bit, we very busy lately so not had much time to spend on this but i have managed to get hold of a bonnet (thanks matt ) not mint but will tidy up - fitted it today won't be in paint for Transitmania 5 but the catch is on so it wont flip up

I need to get an MOT this week so i'm getting it ready for that (hopefully they can fit me in) the charge cooler mods have been done so i should get a chance to collect it tomorrow - i'll post up a pic

but the big news is - i took it for a little run up the road with the boost leak sorted - and it spun up under hard acceleration - which it hasnt done since i had the cossy in so i have high hopes

after Transitmania 5 is over i'm going to sort out another drag meet to test it if anyones interested??? stu also fancy's taking the YB mk6 out again after fixing his turbo he thinks he can improve too
