Yes mr loot i have to spray the wing but then i have to spray the corner of the bumper then the front of the door then i have to lacquer the whole van

Hi loots . I'm trying to do the very neat modification you did on auto closing on the power mirrors . I've got them closing fine when I double lock but I'm not getting a positive pulse from wire 3 on the actuator so the mirrors will not open when unlocking.
Any chance of looking at my wiring diagram to see wher I went wrong?

Can't really understand your notes . Wire 3 from the actuator produces a pulse to the relay upon locking but nothing when you unlock

Are you using an automotive relay ?
I used a reed relay on mine
Loot had to put a cap in to make his big relay work
I don't think there's quite enough of a pulse for a big relay

Pin 8 is just an earth anyway , so rather than use 8 I just used the earth. The problem is on the other side of the relay , pin 3 is only sending a positive pulse on the locking motion , this correctly closes the relay and in turn closes the mirrors. The problem is that the pin 3 does nothing's nothing when the van is unlocking so the mirrors don't recieve the earth signal to open.

I'm a domestic sparky so have a reasonable understanding of these things, but the wiring config as loot explained it does not appear to be working , he wired it correctly but I don't understand his explanation

Loots actually an algorithm so sometimes its difficult for us humans to tell what he's going on about

Ok thanks , I will try that tomorrow . Just couldn't understand that if you cut the wire from pin 3 , then the actuator loses it signal to lock

Hi all I had 2 races today so been busy

Also been a while since we did this so i might not understand what loot did either it's a lot easier when you know in your head

I used a small Ford relay but used a cap to store energy to the low input switch coil to delay closing enough to allow the mirrors to register a pulse and actuate.

Bjt used a tiny crap relay that was a bit slow anyway which is actually more suited to this application (damn his engineering prowess)

The mirrors work perfect if you open/fold double lock/fold.
They don't work if you single lock/fold closed then double lock/fold open then unlock/fold closed
Needs slight modification but you can quickly double press to correct them if they shut when you unlock, no big problem tbh.
Ford are away of the situation but don't care

Anyway.....
Pin 3 +v pulse and ground is good and the pin 4+8 are either side no earth the mirror switch pin 4+8 link via the switch so when pressed they are bridged together, why have you got ground?





If you have a big arse relay it won't work on 1 side because the relay is stronger than the pulse is
I've only looked at your wiring diagram so if I'm wrong I'll have to look at earlier posts in the topic for you
