Do these fit any engine Martyn ??

Guessing they do 3D injection and ignition???

Not sure if the Map representation options are 3D or just HEX/2D ( I choose to work in 2D on my editor )
but more importantly they do everything needed, & like most standalone aftermarket ECU's are highly simplified & unrestricted compared to all OEM systems.. the plug & play range ( with factory wiring loom connectors ) AEM do are made for a sprinkling of Japs like Accura, Supra , Impreza, & the odd Yank like Dodge Stealth. Supra wise, the current series 2 is listed for 93-97 models.. not sure if Luke's is that year range but for simplicity a unit like this is where I'd start & 600 looked cheap !

found it, looks like something i'd need to know a bit more about 8) problem is i would like to get it running ok before i messed about with anything like that - the problem i have i can't see being the ecu so if i put that on it would still have the fault :|

There are so many inputs to the OEM ECU that need be "happy" that I thought ( bearing in mind the OEM setup ran OK in the Aristo ) that something like the AEM may reduce the number of inputs to suss out substantially .. plus theres a huge amount of discussion online from users that you could tune it yourself once its running OK. But you have been working on it a lot & have a wiring diagram so probably have each pin worked out by now anyway  8)

if it was £60 i'd buy it but £600 is a bit too much - it needs someone like you to sit with a laptop and get it sorted

how much are these AEM ecu's brand new :?:

I'm tempted :-)

Brand new , (they are on series 2 now ) they are 2k dollars so £1500 ish.. theres a used on on ebay US at $500 at the mo

Good info from makers install PDF -

The Mass air flow sensor is not used as the load input for calibration from AEM. Due to the substantial
increase in power by removing the AFM, AEM recommends using a map sensor in speed density
measurement. The factory map sensor is good for up to 230 kpa (18 psi) of boost. Above this pressure, it
is recommended to use a 3 bar map sensor or higher (Contact AEM for part numbers).
Auto Transmission Operation
The Wide open throttle shift RPM is based upon when the ECU sends the command to perform the gear
change, this DOES NOT mean it will shift at that exact RPM due to mechanical response times for the
hydraulic fluid to affect the change. You will have to determine the response time for your transmission by
observing the engine speed vs. shift event in AEM Log and adjusting the shift point to occur before the
engine reaches maximum rated engine speed.

my fuel pressure gauge has turned up today 8) 8) but unfortunately the adapter bolt to fit it to the fuel rail hasn't  :( :(

in other progress i started to make a new dash the other day- back to the top design. the problem was i was running wires to temparary positions so i wanted the dash in the final position so i can neaten up the wiring

the adapter bolt arrived

Image

i trial fitted it but the sender is a lot bigger than i thought it would be and it fouls the bulkhead  so ive ordered a 45deg adapter and hopefully that will allow it to fit :) the whole assembly is a lot closer to the bulkhead than i would have liked - if i can get a 1/8"npt banjo with a long stem on it i will swap it over and relocate the sender i the future - but once it's running i'll keep an eye on it :D

Look like one of my "not got the right parts on me" plumbing repairs

Is all this just to eliminate unknown problems ??

no its the right part (even ordered it specially from usa) - it's to tap into the fuel rail to fit a fuel pressure gauge - it it was still in a supra it'd be ideal - its just that transit bulkhead thats in the way

got it all fitted and running - not on the road as i didnt have time to put all the charge cooler back on

ran at 36psi on tickover and rose to 40psi when i revved it - not sure what it should be :?

here's the fittings it's about 1/2" off the bulkhead :|
