So...feeling very in debt to the fairy, decided that this morning was rusty monday...

Armed with a bottle of stuff from the e bay garage thats meant to treat and undercoat and has been used by the swiss navy for years, i set about wire brushing the muttley sponsored spare wheel holder and treating that...noticed that the camper brackets were looking a bit off along with the step so did them...bearing in mind i still have no axel supports and there is little ground clearance, i felt a little like a great escaper...also did the prop shaft, the exhaust, the exhaust manifold (i keep getting water on it) and finished the exhaust manifold in cooker paint...so it will be interesting to see what colour the flame is when it catches light (sudden feeling of unwellness)...

I think the gil needs a break today, topped water and oil...wow she does drink some water! And took her for a quick spin...accelerator still sticky, drive a bit cloggy and rattle still there...more investigation work with mvm to sort the rattle required...still no sign of a plate for the weber carb so thats still stuck in the box...met some brill people at tmania though and nick was brilliant at explaining very gently to me what magic he could do with the bodywork of puk...only problem was that i forgot to get a card or the website for his business as he is moving soon to a great industrial estate on basildon...

I have promised kate the campernaut that i will take her to the tilly lamp festival in october...being a gil she was typically excited until yester when her little bottom lip went and she said...do you think there will be any of the transit boys there (in that sort of evasive way that kids do when they have a brill time with some friends and want to see them but dont want to make a big thing of it just in case...

And filled that window hole at the top from a ladder...always a bit odd using a ladder to get the a roof of a car...never had that...


So autumn jobs...

Get easy to understand maintenance list (with photos) from mvm to work on
Sort out rattle to front wheel
Sort out sound proofing and glue annoying carpet that twists under the accelerator
Stare longingly at weber carb and try and work out where to get mounting plate
Buy a jack
Think about getting axel stands or better jack
Start planning how to get puk to nickster the body perfecter
Fill holes in dash before putting noise insulation in
Buy a small plug in heater for autumn get away
Think about changing all internal lights so that they may match and get rid of the broken one in the loo
Think about getting easy to remove battery terminals
Think about getting some plastic edging for the furniture where the chip board is starting to chip

Still seems to be a very long list but hey, where would the fun be if you could just get in and drive...

Love henrys drivers attitude...begger it, just get in and go camping! Sometimes i forget all the things that you have all helped with and work now...thank you.

You have just got to remember that old trannys are a hobby and not just a form of transport. ( tell no one what I arrived in )
