Is that strictly legal and how do you do it? I thought they weren't allowed off the chassis.

Its perfecty legal to stamp your own VIN tag as far as the MOT is concerned, so long as the numbers/figures you put on it match those in VOSA's database you are fine, if they dont match you wont get a cert issued.

update - last night before MOT

well just got in been working solid since i got in from work - unfortunatly it will fail as i have no windscreen washers :( i cant find the jets anyware :x

apart from that brakes i haven't touched - they still feel spongey but i'll take my chance :P

screen went in too easy :lol:

and EVERYONE who's heard it says it will fail on being too noisy :shock: i'm the only one who thinks its ok :lol: :oops:

the wireing is still a mess but i dont want to tape up the loom untill ive added all the extra wires - its tiewrapped safe - just looks a pigs ear :lol:

Failed :) but nothing too major, just little clips and stuff eg track rod ends no splitpins :D

worst one is rack is notchy :( which it is, but i may fit the pas rack :D

hopefully i'll get it retested sat then be ok for the northern meet on sunday :D

oh and the exhausts are LOUD :P didnt fail but too much for driving around like :lol:

brakes were fine, didnt feel too bad once i drove it, i think it was just i was used to my mk4 which is a rock hard pedal :?

oh and i aslo swapped the springs over yesterday clearance is now 220mm :lol:

1 more thing he knocked it on was no drivers mirror - even tho it passed with 1 mirror (centre) before it now has 2 (pass & centre) it must have the drivers - he says last tester was wrong :lol:

Yep, must have two mirrors, drivers(must have) and any other one.
