Fantastic, I love the Old A-series but alas they are too big for my licence great work I hope you have inspired many to save an old van rather than scrapping it
On starting up, it sounded exactly like a skeleton having a w@^k in a biscuit tin.
Thanks... a month or three now, and we will get going again on the cab...
As for the brake wheelcylinders, I have found a company in the USA which inserts a brass or stainless steel liner inside, then they will be good as new... and atr least last forever.... checking the prices tomorrow. then there is left to find new seals.... or someone who can fab up new ones...
it's fantastic to see an a series being saved from the crusher. back in 1990 when i started as a mechanic in skegness we had a a series flatbed recovery truck, i loved the old girl and shared a scary 24 hours in her driving a 600 mile round trip in one of the worst snowfalls we had seen in years, i had a honda accord on the flatbed and a caravan on tow from skeg to the top end of the yorkshire moors and back. the old a never missed a beat through the whole trip, even when the we ploughed through a snowdrift. keep up the good work lads your workmanship looks great.
Wow fantastic work gone on here just read start to finish well i had hoped it was the finish lol what happened to the truck and this thread will it continue i very much hope so ?
