Next door was having a windscreen fitted today so i asked about my sliding windows and if there is anything that could be done . And there isn't. They ain't off a transit, and will never fit a transit unless i buy 2 side loading doors and cut the apertures 8mm smaller. f*** me off when you buy sh*t in good faith and its no good. £100+ down the drain.

Wont work as that will make the rubbers a good fit in the aperture but the sliding window setup will then be loose in the now bigger rubber :(

Thanks Tim, but that means i would have to buy 2 side loading doors , cut out the holes etc etc. Just to get these windows in. So just to get a set of sliding side windows in will be costing me over £250 because one of our forum members sold me the wrong windows.
time to move on, lesson learned, now wait until we get a minibus in at the scrap yard with the proper windows in.

Bring the "wrong" sliders to mania, I'm sure someone will buy them if they haven't cut the holes yet. :)

got a roller coat on the wings and bonnet this morning. Bonnet didn't turn out too well due to the wind and bugs. Wings are looking good. Put the lot on with a brush and then went over with a loaded roller. Came out well. One more coat and ready to put the bumper on 8)

Looking good bigmonty, it's amazing how far resto will go to work on a transit.

On a truthful note he's a diamond geezar, not many peeps would have done it.

Good luck with the rest of the van m8
57 plate transit connect
V reg mk5 transit (gone for restoration to Durham)
56 plate mk7
