well i had an 86?? c-reg metro (C510HET-wonder if its still around  ) and it had no o/s mirror but thats not the problem he says 1 is fine providing its on the drivers n/s - all i need do is swap it over, so its no great hassle :D

just been up do do a few jobs - think i'll be ok for a sat mot providing he can fit me in :?
once ive sorted the rack i'll ring him up :D

Well from what my man says its Drivers and any other from 88 onwards, before that drivers or rear view will do, at no stage has passenger side only been acceptable, but then who would do that anyway?

went up after work today (i am trying  ) tried to fit the pas rack and the engine is too low :x dunno how i managed that but i tried to make it so both racks would fit and the engine mount was close to the manual rack so that was the one i left in 90% of the time :( i can only think it's after i altered the gearbox position :!:

anyway i should be able to raise the engine up enough but, ive left a bolt in the back  ex-egr bracket i think, and that will fould the bulkhead when raised, so i'll have to drop and engine mount off- lower the engine to remove it :x all stuff i didnt really want to do, also the new gators for the pas rack were supposed to be here today and didnt get delivered (to my local motorfactors) so i gave up with it today :(

i'm cutting it fine for the northern meet but i should make it to gaydon easly   :?

There are two racks but they are the same....doesnt make sense? Basically there are two part numbers, one for 'solid mount' and one for 'rubber mount', but the racks are one and the same thing :?

well ive got another gator coming monday - if that dont fit im gonna do a cut and shut on 2 gators

one more problem ive found now i have the washer jets is the mk3 stalks dont operate the washer jet pump  ive tried 2 mk3 stalks and both dont work - so im guessing they are wired differnet to the mk2 - everything else wiper wise is fine tho :? ive got tomorrow morning to sort it - if i have to i'll put a seperate switch in to get me passed the mot :D

to get round the mirror problem i fitted the passanger one to the drivers side - same position on the door but the window edge is a bit in the way :( shame but it looks best there and we all know looks come before safety

oh yeah one more thing ...... now the engine is raised a bit it fouls the servo on the plenum :x constantly rattling as i drive :( another job to sort
