I am very upset to see that Chaz forget to inform you that his lovely blonde, 22yr old girlfirend, brought the panels for him - i've also rought him two brand new sills since - £110 well spent i think - just the valance/subframe and the steps still to buy!! Hmmm wonder if ill pay for them too lol

2.5 v6 was in mk1 granadas and also mk4 zephyr/zodiacs.

yes, its definety not the original. think one of the previous owners was sold it as a dud - some one has been fiddling, all the pistons are numbered from factory, but not in the right holes!!

After sitting looking at the welding plant for a number of weeks i have finally put the power point in and got it working. Did some practice runs on some scrap last night and am getting better so hopefully get some welding done soon.

A little more progress, I have just taken out the front seats, floor mat, glove box and heater to look at the bulkhead and get ready for welding, There is a little more to do than i thought but on the scale of things its ok. After stripping the engine back to a bare block i decided that it was not cost effective to repair so i brought a short motor of the bay in need of a rebuild, It already had been re-bored and had a low milage set of pistons already fitted, I am treating this to a new set of rings, shells, core plugs, the crank needed a grind so that has now been done i have a new cam and followers ready for it, Have a pair of heads ready for a rebuild. so between the left over 2.5 parts the engine will soon be ready to go.
Sarah has started pulliing the insides out and designing a new look,
I am of two minds on fitting a Mk3 front axle. It would be good to have disk brakes but my efforts would be better spent on other areas of the van and speaking to people that drive Mk1 transits they have said the drums are fine so might leave that as a upgrade once back on the road. Hopefully post some pics soon.

Ah ha. . Some progress, as I get very few chances to get the landliner in the workshop with work, rain, snow and other issues things have not been happening recently, but i now have the workshop for a week and the landliner is inside. I have started welding the bulkhead around the heater box and i am progressing well, I am hoping to get the majority of the welding done this week but so far the forces have been against me (pub) Can anyone tell me where the holes for the water pipes going to the heater should be, that area turned to dust soon as i touched it. Also how thick is the box section between the front spring hangers? I have 14swg or 1/8 box. Hope to post some pics soon.

Right, the area around the heater box is now solid, this was the worse bit of the van, i still need to do something about the box itself but its nice not to have a great rust hole.
Hopefully tomorrow i will do the front inner arches and maybe the crossmember. then its just the steps and sill and the welding (for now) is done

wow you have done a great job there mate she is comeing on well

the drum brakes will probly be ok once you have looked at them i changed to disc on the twin wheeler as drums were forever pulling to one side
