nice,
new progress. looks to be heaps of room for an alternator in there. or a turbo or 2

is that power steering box a ZF one? same as a BMW one?

the weather is getting better now, i will begin sorting My van out soon too

No room in engine bay to mount the alternator in a good spot so im making a bracket to mount it on the 9" axle (as pictured)

the only thing with doing this is when you stop the battery light will come up, you need to fit a capisiter to hold a small amount of power to stop the light coming on

The light wont bother me, I'll use as a warning that im going to slow

deankdx it may look like theres plenty of room and infact there is for a pair of turbo's but as for the alt the only spot i can put it is high on the pass side mounted to the head and that will look yuk, i can't mount it low as the radiator hose is there

i have seen alternators mounted backwards to make them fit,
some of the serpentine belt setups run them anticlockwise i am led to beleve from the 302 windsor?

if so you clould mount it low then?

with your engineering skills i'd say its possible.

cheers mate!

tried to fit some headers today and i gotta say its not easy getting 8 2" pipes in there, theres just no room arount the rear of the heads!

After a few hours or getting nowhere i spat the dummy so im not going to touch it for a little while :x

Looks like i need to do some cutting to get the header to fit  that means repainting some of the bay again

Got the headers in Luke, but not without some cutting :( will be moving on to the side pipes soon! Im using some 4" silenced stainless truck stacks

70mm thick Alloy radiator is being made it also houses the the airfilters

Once the pipes and radiator are done i'll pull the engine and box again and repair the mess from fitting the headers

Its starting to get out of hand

When i first bought it i made a promise to the bride that i was going to leave it standard

well now im building an alloy headed 10.5:1 512ci engine that will be set up to run a healthy shot of N2o, just need to figure out a good rear suspension setup to get it to hook up
