Seems like Transits from MK1-4 are becoming rarer

Atleast we got the MK5s :D

Righty ho !
I have a Sunday free. Going to get the welding device fired up. Made some spreader plates made up at work last night for the seats. We had the good engineer on and all it cost me was chicken chow mein, BBQ ribs and a can of coke.
GAME ON !

Got a few little bits to do for the MOT next month but it is still spot on solid. Just bits on the body to do to tidy it up.
Love the old van

Just took it for a spin up the road and I have a hell of a noise coming from the back. A squeeling ! like the noise American police cars make in bad B movies.
Brakes seem fine, nothing seems to be hitting anything. But there seems to be a lot of play in the prop shaft. In my limited knowledge I am guessing the center bearing has gone. Are these a difficult fix ?

Didn't twig it before... but a mk4 with twin SLDs... thats rare!

Propshaft bearing isn't tahat hard. Just make sure you mark any joints before you split the prop. You may also need to grind down a spanner to get at the bolts properly

In my haste to get " DORA " Moted for transitmania I had one of my mates come round that does MOTs.
All good apart from rear fogs and sharp edges on the front wings.
So I have sent mrs monty off to the 24 hour Tesco to get some filler. ( we have daddys new land cruiser at the moment with the derv card so she didn't need asking twice )
Then the neighbours come out and say its too late to use an angle grinder. Told them to Bugger off.
So the front wings are going to be filled with jam until I can get some spare together to get some new ones.
Now one of the little Montys has informed me that she has bum gravy ! So the poor van gets left again.
Its going to be a long night

Bugger Bugger Bugger. Only 5 days to go and I am as far as I can get without help. Stuck some filler in the front arch. Doesn't look to bad considering I only had a belt sander and some 60 grit sandpaper to hand
couldn't get an MOT sooner than Friday so im pushing my luck somewhat.

I'm not there yet :(
Couldn't bring it to billing last year as I didn't thave the seats done for the little Montys. Don't want to have to come this year in the Volvo. Looks like I just may scrape the mot. But now I can't find the log book, and it will need some tax.
