OK, I suppose I can post up last nights progress and the pains we went through, to it get to top coat.




1st coat is this weak


But the time the second coat goes on the colour really starts to tone down


When Nick opened the tin of pearl, thats where the trouble began...
Rice pudding comes to mind! Yep, thats Nick misses new strainer, I bet she doesn't know yet, well, she will now

We ended up filtering what was left out of 5ltrs through paint filters into mixing cups which took me over an hour and about 50 filters while suppling a steady stream of pearl, well, what can you do in the middle of the night.

By the time it touched 3.30am I just saw the first coat of lacqure go on and I was falling asleep, didnt get home until after 4am. Ddidnt get back to the workshop untill after 1 today and we started to clean and prep all the parts we took off, did we really need to gut the van So we looked at all the easy bits

Turned up this morning to continue bolting things back on... The windscreen fitter came lastnight and replaced the screen, but managed to bend the driver door where it meets the wing... Coz the doors where gutted, there was no check strap, nothing we can do with it
And to top it off, the 3rd lacqure coat started to react. Paint suppliers came into day and agreed to replace paint after looking at it, so Nick may think about repainting it later Anyway, we are going to flat it down tomorrow and try and polish it out, as well as finish bolting parts back on.
Off to get a shower, I'll post some piccies later tonight, if I dont fall asleep first.

Not had it in the sun yet, so we dont know what the pearl is like after all the lumps.

Ooooh!! Looks like Billing is going to be full of the aromas of 2 pack,cellulose and laquer and the battered and bruised from engine mods and swaps this year.
Plenty of snoring from those trying to catch up with upset sleeping patterns.

Should be a great weekend though
