Back to business!
Started, again, this project after almost a year :?

Bolted off old axle today, prepared a bit to fit the newer one in..but found some soft rusted spots on the chassie beams..well gotta start fixim them as its easier when the axle is not on the way.

The frame in the back is in terrible condition..will have to replace completely some day..

And still something to do on the cab as well..

Well this is the new axle (MK4) - and yes, shock mounts have to be turned to front

Old one

Mk1 prop flange fits OK to mk4 shaft, only the protective cup/flange is too far away and too small diameter, maybe I could swap from mk4..lets see.

Opened up the front hubs..there is a lot of freeplay up/down! Please point me to right thread, where kingpin removal and or shimming is described..

OK..its maybe reasonable to use search..and there is a lot of material on this..

It looks like this -72 TRansit has mk2 front axle..with screw-on top+bottom cap that has the greasing nipple on it..so king pin set 72-85 would fit..

But, I am thinking to survive the MOT with just putting a spacer or nut of suitable height below the top cap, to prevent the movement..wise or not :?:
