My MK4 Camper

I had to replace the front wheel bearings, front left is broken with a knocking noise followed by a loud droning on friday.
So I decided to fit the alloys for a first test (tyres are still missing, coming this week).



Front wheels will not fit on th fly, the heads of the bolts for the brake disks are not flush-mounted on MK4.
I have to mill shafts in the wheel hub and replace the bolts by allen srews.
Hope i'll not forget to take photos while modding.

P.S.: I have to use a dictionary, because my english is a bit rusty and some vocabularies i never learned at school, hope you know what i want to say

Yes, i know.
I have a 18mm couterbore bit with 10,5mm shank.
This is exactly what i need for the M10 screws.

I'll do the mod next weekend and will take some photos.

Modded the front wheel hubs today.

Looks like this before


Bought new allen bolts with flat head in same quality as the original ones ( 10.9 ).


This is the counterbore bit for the drill i used.


Drilled first hole.


Mounted the new bolt.


Left side finished.


Right side finished.

Replaced leaking steering rack this weekend, but forgot to make photos.
Also mounted tyres and fitted wheels.
Tyre dimension is 205/65 R16C.
Maybe 215/65 R16C could match but i have to ensure that speedo doesn't show less than real speed, else i have to adjust speedo in any way.
Will go on test stand next week.
Rear and side loading door windows were tinted last week.

Just waiting for awning cloth (production should last 3 weeks, now waiting for 8 weeks).
Hope i'll get it next week, want to go on tour first weekend in may.

Got them from ebay (seller was quint1962), but it seems that they are not availlable at the moment.
Maybe you can also find them at vangadgets.co.uk.
