got twin din, what paint needed for front grill/bumper?

and the cold cathode blue lights have arrived!, they´ll also be going in, instaling them in the footwell area on both sides passenger and driver.

ive got cold cathode tubes in mine there very bright and look awsome much better than neons in my opinion you will have to post some pics up as you go along mate

also im working on that power panel very soon, and even designing one to work on a standard Din panel for those who have a spare din slot.

modding's halted right now due to a radio wiring loom burnout (see my other thread), however that doesnt mean it wont get finished, next things to do are cold cathodes and super beam driving lights (look like fog lights, but actually the range is far further than the standard headlights).

other things to do is wheelz.
and some other bits n pieces.

Update:

Wheel trims added - wanted alloys but you gotta go for the right type and costly so trims it is.

New radio - Alpine TDM 7586RB Cassette unit with Remote Control and CD Changer CHM S630 all for £20 from a mate, no box but instructions + cables are intact will fit it when it arrives!

guage still needs mounting but when me and my dad get to the van ill put it up.

and adding of Sierra Digital clock/computer thingy or the one Luke was showing me on the other thread once i know how you wire it up.

and there is one other thing im going to do which i saw on a land rover and would look quite awsome, ill put out pictures when its done

time to ressurect this old thread, got a Kodak Easyshot camera now, time to take some pics.

I ahve since found a twin din dash! just gotta get it......

then ened to rebuild the +12v switched feed as it burnt out.

and then fit the 3 guage mount in the extra din slot. before i can T off for the boost guage i'll need to get a little extra hose and a few jubille clamps to stop the T pice from slipping out.

then to mesh the grill and spray the whole thing black with silver mesh and a sprayed on ford badge on the mesh!

what sort of paint would i need to change my new mesh grill a diferent colour?
not the mesh itself, but the bit around it, like what guy88 did to his van.

also, mounting additional driving lamps (look like fog lamps but have a driving lamp beam) to the front bottom bumper, possible?

and if that is posisble I just want to run that straight from the battery with an inline fuse, anyone recommend a good wiring diagram for it? (going to mount the switch in one of the blanked out holes on the driverside using an official switch).

Got my Twin/Din Dash peice £5 from scrappy with all air ducts and clock, ordered a switch for front driving lamps,

i will promise you guys some pictures by sunday evening at the very latest, with or without mods.

looks good still hardly any rust at all, just a little bit on front left wheel arch, going to fix that soon tho. Van is difficult to mod as its in sue for floorlaying, and its had many a F3 / 2Stick glue spill in the cargo, any floorlayer on here will really undertsand how potentially dangerous 2stick can be if spilled....

what sort of paint would i need to change my new mesh grill a diferent colour?

I sprayed mine with standard car paint, might have to give it a clean first.
A few coats probaly sort it out.

i used tractor enamel

whatever you use you need to rough the plastic, use a proper plastic primer and then top coat it. keep the coats thin to prevent runs

if only it was as easy as that, can't get to the van until the weekend, as im a full time uni student + the van is in constant use. except for weekends.... only asked about the paint as i might have been able to get that done then take the pictures. you wont see much now just a plain looking transit with clear indicators with a standard dash.

however, i will try, mine will be slow going but then again thats they way it will be for a while slow going. uni really keeps you busy and when you get a stupid lecturer picking on ya it doesnt help. mine now is badgering on about x values and straight lines.... hang in there they will come. Resnet didn't help either, as i could ahve had a lot done in the meantime if it wasn't for them.
