Dai,
if you add a good squirt of Fairy liquid to the water before soaking everything with it and then squeegee (if that's how you spell it?) the water out you should get a good result.
Squeegee's are available at B&Q and Tiling shops as they are used for grouting tiles.

Cheers Chris. makes a lot of sense - wish I'd remembered it first! The good news is that this film is the real specialist stuff manufactured by Filmtek and it really is semi-permeable - it's not the usual Halfords crap so the bubbles are actually disappearing slowly. Shall do it properly next time / whenever though
