Batteries are soldered in from factory as they are rechargeable
They charge while in ignition.

I’m assuming still I can just swap the head linings over and the receiver isn’t built into the lining is it?
What code readers do we use on the mk7 as I will get one and learn how to use it..
Also, how do I take off the oil service light?

Sorry thought you were talking about swapping receivers. No they're not in the headlining they're velcro'd to the roof panel above lining.

What code readers do we use on the mk7 as I will get one and learn how to use it..

Forscan and a modified ELM327(or an ELM that's capable of internal switching of HS/MS CAN signals) is your friend in a Mk7

Also, how do I take off the oil service light?

Search function/Google is your friend for a bit of pedal stomping.

Cheers airthies, I’m just trying to learn as much as I can with the mk7, hoping head lining on its own is straightforward to swap over then can look at the sensor properly while it’s down...

Cheers Ned, that shall be my plan tomorrow after work, I can have a look at the fob sensor when I pull it down too, just think the black one looks so much nicer in the cab than the boring dull grey one..
Swapped the wheels over last night, sitting way to high on the back end for my liking, once start fitting my stuff over tonight should slam it a lil...
Still in two minds of what night heater to go for, need to wire in a second battery under the seat for it, tho this gave me an idea for seats in the rear, if I get three seat bases, would it then be ideal to fit three recaros in the rear, using lap belts on each, plus will have the storage under them, sort off, I’m just toying with ideas atm at how I want the van to look, don’t want a rock n roll bed as takes up too much room as my subs will be by the back door...
Also looking at fitting three recaros up front, or just two, but thinking can I fit half a seat with isofix in the middle that would be safe and practical, like say, toying with ideas atm..

Right, I have a care of address, myself and the van is registered there, as long as I’m taxed insured and mot’d then it’s all good and legal, all my stuff ie, work, banks and national insurance is registered there too, but as it’s a care off address I’m not liable on anything else, besides, 80% of my earnings I don’t get thanks to the government and the way they run this country...

I wasn't accusing you of not being legal I just always wondered especially with the traveling community how vehicles were insured ect, back before these anpr cameras I dare say many were unregistered and insured, oh the good ol' days eh
