swb day van project , WELL CRUNCH TIME, LAST CHANCE FOR BITS

i am going to put some watered down pva glue on the wood then i am going to put carpet over it all,

i have done more today but the light has betten me again so no pics hope to get some more tomorrow,

also i have run out of wood and screws so another trip to B+Q and see if i get a disount this time

i was also working out where i will be putting the lights and the computer moniter, 15" flat screen, i am waiting for the sink, cooker and fridge to turn up and then i can fit them, i have also got to dig out my generator to i can box that in,

i am going to get my windows this week and i hope to have them tinted, ( if it don't cost to much),

then i am going to meet up with custom (craig) who has said he will fit them for me, i am also going to try to sort out a 240v external plug and fit that under the bonnet and run the wire to my 2000w power converter, (the power converter has a 240v input so when i connect it to the mains i can still run everything that is running at 12v.)

hopefully i will have a load more done by the ace cafe metting on the 12th of april, and let you see it in the flesh,

i dont think i will have it carpeted by then as i want everything in and working before i comite to that, i am also looking at getting a 60lt water tank to fit under the back of the van where the spare wheel once lived,

does any one know where i can get a bracket to mount the spear wheel on the back of the van i.e. on the passanger door like this one,

i also think i might have sorted out a st of alloys my van, they are a set of 5 stud lotus carton wheel, brand new with tyres, my friends dad brought them for a project but he died before he could do it so his wife is selling all his old stuff,

Hi Spudmab,

Thats my old van in the piccy your asking about with the spare wheel on the door.I have been asked this many times in the past so here'sthe reply to some of them.

The bracket for holding the wheel to the door is from a Suzuki vitara (1988/1996) model.
I used two inch square steel plate about 3mm thick as washers to spread the load inside the door,after three years there is still no sigh of any cracks so all seems to be fine.

The bracket will need the vitars bolts cut off and new bolts welded on to the transit stud pattering.

The ladder is home made out of 19mm round bar and a b&q pipe bender.

i went over to my friends mum and she told me that she only wants £150.00 for the alloys, ( result )

i had a look at them and i noticed that they are OZ racing wheels 7J*17" and they are mint, no marks on them what so ever, i just have to work out how i can pay for them now, it my b-day on the 13th of april, the day after the ace cafe meet, so i will ask my mum and dad if they can help out insted of getting me s**t that i dont want, lol

i hope to get the wheels soon and then i can start getting them fitted, it shouldn't be to hard as my brother in-law owens half of http://www.wisbech-engineering.co.uk, and he makes hotrods for a living.

i have managed to get out and get some up-dated pics of the van how i finished it on sunday, just waiting for the sink, cooker, fridge, and get some more wood,





i have also worked out that i'm going to fit a comuter with flat screen in the van, i'm looking @ a 15" moniter and sink it into one of the side panels, then i have a dvd player, loads of music, tv, and games, and every other thing you get with a computer, also can connect my phone to the computer and have broadband internet where ever i go,

i have found this mini keyboard that i will use and its only £34.99

The only misstake I have made with mine, is the wiring... Like when I wanted to fit the sub, I have no way of getting the rca cables to the back, I made eveything so tight with tec screws So thats why im going to take the roof down and make something new and more accessable for the future.

yes i have thought about the wiring probs,

i am able to run alll the cables down the inside of the seat unit and up over the inside of the van as im putting a false roof up to fit some 12v spots/ down lighters and some insulation,

i had to rewire a race bike transporter 7.5 ton after it was brought and found to be a bag of s**t, i dont like having to make good, so i want to do a proper job first time round,

and this way i can check everything is working before i cover it all up with carpet.

i went and saw the wheels again and done some mesurments, and took a photo of one of them, they are OZ racing wheel made for lotus development,

hello everyone,

i haven't updated this for a while so here goes,

well last saturday i went over to customs house and we set about fitting the side windows that i brought for a £10.00 each,






then on sunday i went to the local market and had a look around and found my self a spear wheel bracket to mount on the back door, bargin £2.00




i also recived my clear front indicators on saturday so they got fitted at 9. pm ish, ( when the missis finally went out and left me to it)



i have also managed to get a carbon back box for my van, free once again from more family, i cool what happens when you ask nicely,

i am going down to london this weekend as i have to see family for my b-day, and i also want to pick up my cooker and sink, and see if i can find out my old mk1,mk2 escort steering wheels and have a look at getting on of the to fit,

i am also going to pop up the ace cafe, is any one going????? would be good to put face's to names, and see the quality of the vans from the forum,

just dug out my power converter and checked it is working ok, and its all good

hello everyone,

i have been doing so much to my van over the last two weeks haven't had time to stop and catch up, and get some pics taken,

anyway i have done loads of stuff,

started to sort out the left hand seat base,






started to fit the cooker,
top panel needs cutting back and some hinges need fitting,
fitted new down pipe, (no pic just a standard one,)
fitted new back box,


fitted new Ariel,

started on my head lining with new interior light,

new sun visors and new cubby hole,

fitted my drivers seat, fiesta mk3/4 SI wing back,

fitted my steering wheel, 12",

retro fitted a fiesta mk2 left hand switch gear,

retro fitted a serria p100 right hand switch gear,

started wiring in my power converter,

16amp plug ( waiting to make a bracket) to allow for outside 240v,

fitted mesh into front grill,

made a switch panel for power converter and 12volt fridge,

started fitting boot rams to open lids on my seat/ beds, and an strip light

started to sort out a single wiper conversion,
