Thanks for your comments everyone.

I think it looks worse than it is. Hopefully, most of it will clean up OK, but there are still quite a few patches to be done!

I'll post more piccies when I have them.

Update:

Engine and gearbox are out. Heads are off in readyness for Unleaded conversion. A nosey around inside and it looks like the 29k on the clock is genuine!

Rest of engine bay being cleared out ready for shot-blasting.

No piccies (sorry).

Anybody know where to get a pair of engine mounts and a gearbox mount (the round one that goes through the tail of the gearbox)? Might as well get them replaced while I have access to everything.

An update on progress - with pictures:

The 'custom bumper' is just to make it easier to shift around the workshop - it's making way for the re-chromed original to return.

Engine Bay, Inner Wings etc, after shot-blasting with a coat of primer:
