You would be better off with more orange. Trying to match a mixed colour with an existing one would be a nightmare! No going back now, keep it orange! Also, have you thought of lacquering it for the shine?

i can get the same orange from the ebay shop he does it in

1L 18.00
2.5L wich i had for 36.00

or

5l and thinner for 60.00 but his thinner only good for gun wash

i may try the 5l tin so when i mix with thinner i can get 10L of paint and i have notice some celly lacquer in a tin of 2l for 25.00 dono if it would work :(

Hi InTransit.... van looks great by the way......really nice...

5l of top coat paint + thinner etc, (10l) will easily give a good covering for a long wheel base transit including the roof (even using modern thin paints). The 2k paint you are looking at on ebay will give a good finish but not if you add a 2L tin of celly. Cos not only will your van have the same colour as an orange it will also have the same texture..... that is, if the paint manages to stay on the van for 5 mins before peeling off and landing on the floor...

Best not to put too much celly with or over 2k paint..... you can get a 2k lacquer to go over the top of 2k orange.. (clear over base, etc.)

Hope this helps....

looking at the compressed thread just shows how much work you have put into this van 8) - ive every confidence you'll have it MOT'd without a problem :D the work you have done and learnt so far is more than most people can or will ever do :D many people would have given up a long time ago :| it's easy to sit behind a computer screen picking fault with someone else but its another thing to get out there and do it :!: hopefully you'll be able to tell who's giving serious helpfull advice :D and those who are not  and listen to it accordingly :!:

now you have a job and regular money coming in set a target for your driving lessons and pass your test then in no time you'll be driving this van around - that will make all the effort worth it 8) trust me

is this van a 190?

if so, all this effort and hardwork will go out the window as you can only drive a vehicle under 3500kg on a normall cat a driving licence. this is the gross vehicle weight, NOT the unladen weight.

unladen weight of a lwb tranny is arround the 1900kg mark, add on your load capacity 1000kg, 1900kg etc and you get your gross weight.

i know for a fact it aint a 100 as it has a 6 stud axle........
