how have you overcome the loss of strength with the big notch in the chassis

where it was cut we welded the ends up then the plate at the top is 8mm thick and welded to the floor and the sides to give extra strength

i doubt 8mm plate is gonna give anywhere near as much strenght as the origanal chassis

just think about it you can bend 8x60 flat bar in a vice - try to bend the origanal chassis - not a prayer and unless its carried on a good length into the chassis it'll have a very weak point on the joint

wish i cud but its not looking lickly we found a load of rust under neath when we were notching the chassis so we have cut it all out and made up repair panels from 3mm steel but have run out of gas we get it from our local pub who are due to get a delivery next sat so it would be cutting it all really fine but will try our best as woiuld love to meet some of you guys and see your vans
