I must admit, it is a bit nerve racking drilling a hole through then scraping a line on the nice shiny paint work. One of the advantages of the bonded windows is they cover more area than just the hole so any small mistake is hidden by it. I'm just hoping they stay in when I drive over the pot holes down the road!

I'll do the back door windows some time, but they will be easy. I need to concentrate on the inside a bit more first. I'm hoping to get the roof lined this week and get my 8ft LED strip light in

Thanks The windows and sticking carpet to the window moulding was a first, but it seems to have worked out quite well

Finished work and was straight onto the van. More carpet was stretched around the odd shapes and the first two roof panels were put up.

Nice work You can get a bit of trim from ford that goes in front of the glass between the seam if that makes sense ? Oe Ford double cabs have it

Yeah, I think I know the stuff you mean, like a thin strip of glass to fill the gap? I've seen it on a few vans and may go for it just to tidy things up a bit.

Yeah, might have to go for a couple of them, I've got loads of the glue left so just need the bits of glass.

Not so much done today, the lack of light caught up with me.

I experimented with diodes for the lighting circuit and decided a bridge rectifier was better than two diodes, mainly because it had a hole in the middle which would allow me to screw to something or other. Also need to consider the current. Each of the LED strips is about 0.7A and I have six of them, so about 4.2A. A 6A bridge rectifier was chosen. More on the lighting and a final circuit diagram later.

The LED strip light was finished off with a terminal block in the right place to match the hole in the roof centre panel. The centre panel was cut and covered, but waiting for paint to dry on a bracket I made for the rear end.

Carpet cut and sprayed with glue.


Panel also cut and sprayed with glue. Not two holes - the small one is for the terminal block on the back of the LED strip light and the bigger one is where the original light would be. I've put a hole there in case I need to get to those wires in the future, but will cover it and leave it covered.


Carpet wrapped onto panel and smaller of the holes cleared.






The bracket that will hold the back end up, made from angle ali with the corners sanded down.
