Creamy dacks freak me out mate

I dont think we'll ever pass on the street coz id have to sell the house just to pay for fuel to get to WA

Well work started today pulled the old lump and dropped the crossmember to so i can fit the big block mounts
Yeah i know its big green and rusty so move your Porsche before i bash it with 460 cubes of fords finest cast iron

Engine x member is done and mounted the bare block and gearbox today and cut the fire wall will fit the heads and intake tomorrow then stat to make an engine cover

So far its going in very easy

Awaiting a different sump, also shows the conversion mounts

This is about where the box will sit but on the correct angle of course, its alot bigger than the std unit, just need to fab a mounting bracket from 10mm plate and it apples

While the transit pitman arm did fit on the volvo PAS box the off set of the arm together with 100mm wider box set the drag link out to far and would foul the wheel on left turns my solution was to fit a straight pitman arm from a HQ Holden
Now this pitman arm will set the drag link in the correct position BUT the tapered hole that the drag link fits in is tapered on the opposite side so i will need to drill it out and fit a tapered sleeve

looking good nice work if it wasent for the cost of petrol i have a 460 ford engine and box could do the same

Whats fuel worth over there its around $1.30 per liter over here,
big blocks arnt all that thirsty im running a 3.00 axle and i hardly need to work the engine to get my van moving and it will be ticking over @ around 2500rpm @ 110km

Petrol is about 90p or $2.2 a litre around here at the moment. Diesel is 96p, $2.4.

As you can see fuel saving methods are welcome! :wink:

:shock: HOLY CRAP!! I thought the Australian Government was probing us rectally with our fuel excise..now I'm not too sure..average price about $1.10 pl
