What a top day, down to the Hoo to pick up newtome carb and a couple of bits for robbie mate, what a great afternoon with the sun chatting clever stuff with diesel head, thank you a great afternoon where i learnt so much. Can only suggest its well worth a visit if youre new on here, plenty of engineering imagination and talent going on salf of the river, who'd have thought they madde them like that in kent!

Bit of jiggery pokery to fit the spare petrol outflow to the incoming petrol line before the pump with an in line filter...just in case...

I was considering whether straight leafs could be re formed and keep their integrity...i wonder if anyone has done this or once flat they have lost their robustness, was considering asking a local blacksmith what he thought

They need the curve to work as a spring. One of mine on each side snapped in the center!

Hi i did not realize you had a pinto engine up front
was it originally a v4 or did you put the pinto in.
There is a firm up north that i got my rear springs
from made to measure so if you want the uprated
they will do it for you will look for the name of them
& post it.
Keep up the good work will meet up at one of the

Ive got 2 spare pairs of springs Robbie... one pair from a 190 and one pair from a Tourneo...

Sorry, might have sounded misguided earlier...when a bendy leaf spring starts to flatten I was wondering whether you could get a blacksmith to reshape it...just a muse...

CE, your journey is far more elloquent that mine and well deserved! Yes, its a pinto, yes it was originally a v4. i have watched the v4 vs pinto debate for a while although a long standing mechanic family friend who retired to Clacton made my dada very happy when he said I had the right engine for the job!

some people do not have Morals or Scruples
we were brought up with.
if it's a ford engine you have under you bonet
you can't go wrong as far as i know ford never
made a bad one.
