Cor blimey! Beaten to it by Fred  I have just come from the garage now, I have been doing NICE stuff like painting the roof :D Glad to see the comments on the rear lamps, I was not sure whether to use them or not :? I dont like the mk2 chassis cab lamps and the spec body has all in one lamps. I want to lose most of the Brimec body and just use the spec frame and hydraulics mounted on a flat backed body with just the one locker at the front. I want to have the spec ram and chassis rails exposed underneath so I can keep an eye on them :)
So I want to mount the D series lamps old style on brackets under the back with the number plate underneath the o/s unit. It passed the mot straight through with NO advises :D

Truck with MOT :D

Black roof :) I hope to have the spec equipment fitted over the weekend (fingers crossed)

Cheers for the congrats folks :D

Ha ha, you have a point but there was method in my madness, I didnt need the extra length and the truck can now park in an ordinary parking space without overhanging and getting a ticket  I started stripping the old mk3 and I was surprised how much extra stuff I had in there

Thanks for the encouragement :D I stripped the body off the old mk3 today, one of the hardest and DIRTIEST jobs yet!! Years and years of oil leaks and diesel smoke have made the rear of the truck bloody 'orrible :x It took me a while to figure how the body was made but once I had sussed it, doing the job was just one long round of cutting and undoing bolts that had been done up 21 years ago!

There is a thread on here devoted to MuttleyII, It was just called Muttley and it was on progress reports (a search should find it) MuttleyI was an 89 6 tonne Mercedes spec with a J&J body, killed off by the LEZ :x There is a picture of it on the Muttley thread.
I got started fitting the body to M3 today, bit of a sweat getting the frame to line up with the chassis but a bit of judicious fettling with a club hammer sorted it  I got the spec hydraulics working first along with the front to rear battery cabling. Then I decided that I would refit the whole body and not just some of it as I was going to :)

Its a bit of a mish mash at the moment but it needs to earn some money now, so cosmetics may have to wait a little while :)

Body all fitted and operating ok :D I nicked a hydraulic hose with the grinder :( but I can fix that tomorrow :) So all is well and I can start to earn with it, it looks a little odd at the moment but will look better with the gap in the middle filled in  The hazard tape is a temp measure to cover the join between body and frame until i can fit a rubbing strip there.
Rear lamps fitted with fog and reverse plus loading lamps :D The pics are a bit crap, I will take some in the sun tomorrow. Cheers, Andy.

No I want to be able to see the chassis  But I will be making some finisher strips to go where the hazard tape is. I like the early lights and as the body was rotten at the back I had to cut it all off anyway  It will have a locker to fill in the gap and I may refit the flyer to that. I may put it on the cab roof but time will tell.
