Get at least 6" thick foam Andy,
foam is not exactly given away but something like a cheap, secondhand? mattress and an electric carving knife will kit it out for cushions/backs/bed.

Good ideas there Mark, we have got a 5" thick foam mattress off ebay for 23 quid I just have to cut it up and bosh it in there

That's it 23 quid to sort a bit of foam is well good, ebay etc. you will pay at least a 100 pounds for 4" stuff, using a sleeping bag you'll be comfy on the 5", i used black fur from a craft shop over my foam and velcro sewn here and there to fold and hold it, it's the type of material that is used for toymaking, cost 15 quid to do the van some years back now and still showing no wear, don't let her have leopardskin though, unless you're into domination and nipple-clamps?

No comment on the nipple clamps A few more little bits done, seating cushions have been cut out and are temporarily covered for now, Also finished carpeting all the woodwork. We also have a nice new grill/hob thingy

Yeah, thanks for that - and I can't sew to save my life!!!! arrrghhh!!! Mum!!! HELP!!!!!!!

Need to make some curtains and tie-backs too - and of course, the main problems will be what to hang the curtains from (just think about it - can't have them in the middle of thin air now can we?) and also how to affix the tie-backs lol

Down to the fabric warehouse down the road for some inspiration methinks.... if I buy enough material to do the cushions three times over I might get lucky and get one set that's usable lol

Used to have roller blinds in the van but we find it is much easier and looks better when tied back by just using the old style curtain wires and hooks.

For each windowed side two wires overlapping 4"-6" in the centre is the way to go.

I tend to use net curtain wire too, but normally have only one curtain. I also add a wire to the bottom of the window then make the curtains so they have a channel at the top and bottom for the wire to go through. This stops them flapping about in the wind when open without the need for tie-backs and keeps them tight to the window when closed.

Twinwire and single curtain system ok on small window but on the amby and Debbie's van it would be a two-handed operation and a pain getting all the material to ruche, also need to keep n/s view for oblique road junctions and all material at one end would restrict view.

Well it's always worked for me, but that's probably because my curtains spend most of their time shut. Isn't removing a curtain from a tie a two handed operation? Not sure why you need to count on a view out of any windows behind the door as most vans don't have such windows.

you make them?? or your other half???? lol I don't possess a sewing machine - and if I did - I'm not sure i could operate it! lol

I have to just add, thanks for the info guys, it's a help. I did wonder that to use net curtain wire if you can still keep it so you can remove the curtains for washing to keep them clean... lol I'm sure Andy will figure out a way for that - I can see a screw fixing rather than a weld! lmaooo

Tie-backs, I like the idea of tie backs cos I do like to see out of my van... she has a massive blind spot on the n/s back corner and if I restrict my vision with curtains I can see me banging into more things than I already do! NOT a good idea....

We shall see - I was thinking of using a thick ropy cord type thing - you know the stuff - real heavy cotton stuff that looks all plush and sumptuous lol.....

Another option for a tie is to use velcro, a bit like the cable ties found on many laptop power supplies.
