Before & after pictures of the Red Oxide, god that stuff is hard to scrub off, I should have worn gloves

Leaving it to dry overnight & will then re-do any missed parts, like in the arches on the sides.
Will remove the passenger & drivers seats and red oxide the front floor while I am at it.

How easy/hard is it to remove the sliding door? as need to weld a section behind the sliding bit.

mine falls off if i shut it too fast as it rubs on tires ... can lift the top runner out of rail, bottom one pops out not sure bout middle one tho !

good shout on red oxiding floor! any left over, get the kids to do underside of van!!!

You can take the rail off without removing the door. I did this but cant quite remember the exact sequence.

I think:
Open the door and remove the bolts on the curved bit, then close the door and remove the rest of the nuts on the inside (mine were rusted and I had to cut one off) then maneuver the track off of the door roller. There is some kind of stop and spring action thing as well I think.

I cant remember if I had to support the back corner of the door (on a milk crate and some blocks of wood) or if that was when I needed access for welding.

Anyway, it's doable on your own.

I waxoiled the underside & inside all arches last year when I was doing all the welding

Just re-organising pics on my pc & came across these few, does these pics show I have the high spec loom?

Also noticed the metal in the drivers door coming apart, in last pic. will sort when get round to c/l e/w ect.

Managed to finish the 2nd coat of red oxide today, not done anything else yet as too cold

Wow Ron, that was some welding job there...a proper project. Good on you for tackling that lot. When I got mine I did the arches and front wings with new body panels (not that they were needed for MOT, just wanted them tidier), only welding it has actually needed was the rear cross member so I guess I've been very lucky from what I've read.
Seats look cool, my kids would have liked something like those.
