you have to take the gross weight of your vehicle off of the gross train weight i dont think you could " legally" tow the trailer empty, let alone with the van on, be careful mate, prolly a £1k to £2k fine for that load

tranny recovery 2000 + vectra 1500 = 3500 + trailer 500 + reno van 1500 = 2000

3500 + 2000 =5500

my brother in laws little trailer based on a single axle caravan weighs 800kg (its been on the weighbridge at a scrappy). That trailer must weigh at least 1000kg.

well the ifor williams ct177 weighs 930kg if i remember right, and if your over 3500, its tacho time, and other laws trailer towing is a nightmare in this fcuked up country of ours

Yes its difficult to tow these days. Difficult to do anything worth while on our roads. Easier to be a bum.

mabe not 500 but i dont think its as overweight as it looks

my trailer is 17' will take a swb tranny (and has done many times) its built from very thick angle and rsj's it's victorian i think and only weighs 750kg that trailer looks lighter than mine

the load in the pic is prolly a tad overweight but i'd drive it, i'd still brick it if vosa pulled me tho

yep it is easier to be a bum try to do anything for yourself today and they will shaft you for it, i wouldnt be surprised if being over 3500kg and towing that trailer if you needed a LGV licence for it , they prolly class it as an artic

We have a little trailer that my dad has abused a bit. It has Cortina wheels on it for some odd reason. We know when its fully loaded because the splits in the side walls enlarge. We know when its over loaded when the tyres rub on the mudguards :O
My dad reckons its payload is tonne and a half because that's how much sand he has had it in from the gravel pit up the road (dumped it straight in). Not bad for a single axle, unbraked box trailer . Made with Crittal steel!
