I’m not planning on doing it, one sld is enough for me and even that’s a bloody pain sometimes

If I do do (  do do) the drivers side fuel filler I’d probably run the fuel pipe through the van and down through the floor, it’ll probably never happen

What a fook up.

So despite me being tight,I saw a new side door step trim for the van and there was a 20% discount. I thought ok i paid 40 for 1 second hand 10 years ago and it finishes the rear compartment nicely. They look the same from left to right but buy the 1 and see.

The right 1 is hens teeth and more likely found in europe.

YC15-V13249-AEYYGL UK passenger side (the 1 i bought from ebay uk )

YC15-V13246-AGH is for the uk right drivers side. Ford can't get them and only 3 used ones exist on the Web.

I asked the ebay seller but they're plugged in.sorry no we can't get it.

Anyway the 1 that arrived has the part numbers.

YC15-V13248-AEYYGL but the 8 is clearly printed over the 6

And I placed it on both sides of the van and it is good and fits. But the pisser is that I'm no longer offered the 20% discount on
ebay

I've put it in watched and hopefully the coupon will come up again

I'm stitching the low roof on from the tourneo it'll be factory.

I might cut the middle out and fit a pop top. But that's a later project. I've still got loads to do, insulation, tourneo interior, stretch carpet etc, there's a leak from the gearbox to engine seal. I'm interested in fitting a mustang automatic gearbox if possible. Remap possibly. I did have the pcm in it from snowflake but I had to install the original map. I could put a 3.2 pot in it if I wanted. Also I'm interested in upgrading the speedo and adding sync 3. If possible.

It's a long term project and I can get it on the road first.

Panels are all spot welded, they sandwich together. Did you post a picture of your panels anywhere? There's genuine fit ones or repair panels which are different. They're doesn't appear to be factory inner sills available for the non sliding door side :x
Looking good squire, that's some love going into that.

Re the Mustang auto I can't find any that match the puma bell housing, the Mustang box is for the petrols.

Right so I like the transit floor as it is easy to clean. But I like the sound proofing and insulating properties of the tourneo carpet, but I'm not a fan of the grey colour.

I saw that you can buy carpet dye for vehicles . No idea if it is any good though.

Also is the tourneo carpet a ho to clean.

So armed with some washing gel and my 2 jet washing machines I thought I'd have a look.

What do you think chaps?

Probably do a bit more but I think it looks good. Might try the other bits of carpet. I'm going to do the interior in anthracite or black stretch carpet so I think I'll need to dye the floor

It’s green, is the carpet dye like the headlining and fabric dye stuff? If it is I’d recommend spraying it on, my daughter used some with a paint roller on the Alfa roof lining and it’s fooking patchy as fook.

It's like a blue green, I've been looking at carpet dye black but in the photos it looks a bit gash, so might have to stay with this colour, I'll see what the other bits come up like,if not very good then I might cancel it.

What a week of humbug.

So i have some plastic bits to paint and got it in my head that I need etch primer. Well no actually you need plastic primer stupid.
Plus I bought 1k and 2k basecoat and 1k lacquer.

Why? Well Google of course. Which tells you different things

Anyway I splashed all of that onto some bits which looked lovely until I did the lacquer which as soon as I put the spray gun down all turned to mush.

Spent the day sulking, but I then went to a local panels and paints place. I bought some 2k filler primer and I have some 2k lacquer from many years ago that the paint man says it's good as long as it doesn't glue up.

So last night I spent 2 hours with the wire wheel on the drill sanding all of the paint off. Try again shall i!

Where was mr Ned when you need him to tell you about paint wotnot.

Oh i instinctively pressed reverse on the wire when when it bunched my t shirt which was actually worse as the bristles dug in

I was told that using 1k clear lacquer on 2k base equals paint stripper

I tried flatting them first but sticky paint even though dry and sandpaper is evil too work with.

I used the wire wheel and removed every trace of red paint. And tonight I primered the panels and the van in filler primer
