i thank you, sir!! just need to learn how to use filler properly for my next task...
a few scratches/grand canyons in the side door and a dent that has always bugged me in rear above light cluster...

any essex filler experts feel free to give free demo! ill supply the tea/filler!

With the great job your doing m8 why not go for the panels instead of filler but I know a good welder/fabricator is hard to find so good luck either way

will re panel, but til then just wanna get the sides lookin but less rough til i can save up and redo all arches n sills, doors and any other scabby bits!
the temp fiberglass bodge on the front arch held up far too well as its in its 3rd year now, but looks sh*t so needs sorting asap!

Dieselhead and captain hook are rthe guys for panels and both good chums too so ill be ok there just time/money for welding.
got a mig so might have a crack at em meself!

Know exactly what you mean m8, mine got a few bad panels but cost so much to get it mint so just left mine till got the cash, will post some pics on my progress report of all the bad bits that I want to get done as I intend on keeping this van indefinately at the mo and want to get it looking like new eventually

you need to make your van louder. found since webers fitted and fuelling increased, people move out of my way on a13/m25. its very kind of them. although i do drive with headlights on as soon as sun drops and BOY, do they hear me coming

fillers easy enough m8 im sure the topics been coverd on here before

yeah its like anything ive never done before myself, the first go is the most daunting and, its not unknown for me to fek something royally up!

is it the same as doing a wall with polyfiller? except you use 2 part filler on motor?

All you gotta do is get a decent bit sandpaper 80 grit
give the area a blast to remove the loose paint ect
a bit of rust proofer
stick a slither of filler on it and then have a cup of tea
a quick sand and then carry on the process
honestly its easy m8
all you gotta remember is just dont put too much on in one go

wouldnt i be using a credit card or similar to scrape off excess whilst wet- seen nick slam it on then scrape off again,
question is if i can replicate or not ??

Have you got everything needed to do your repairs Rob, grinder with flexipad, to get down to clean metal, or the filler has a tendancy to crack off the paint. rust treatment is fine, as long as it sealed again after or the rust will just come back. I'll always come and give a hand if need a bit of help with the kettle
