Surely that depends if they are faster or not? :lol:

BTW I expect you to beat my best time, especially if you have the little mod we discussed earlier fitted. If you can't do it I will be disappointed!

Hi there Bigman, sorry for the late response.

Not done much with the Chucklebus since Transitmania 2013 apart from fitting a larger chargecooler pump and a genuine Ford locking fuel cap, (should improve reliability :lol: ).

Spent the time just driving it about and enjoying the van :D
I am sure that like me, many of you were concerned by the 'reliability issues' raised by some forum members that have suggested a tuned Di would not last long, so the last 10,000 miles have been a 'durability test', culminating in the North Weald drag racing meet.

Safe to say it is as reliable as a Volkswagen :D

Finally some more progress :lol:

I have never been happy with the 'bodged together' inlet manifold and after a long search managed to get hold of an early Di turbo one, this will feed in along the rear of the engine bay providing a more direct route and improving access to the injectors.

The intake hose attachment was far too small for the connecting hose so a hole was cut in the manifold and a section of 70mm ally tube welded in;

The threaded sections of ally round bar welded onto the manifold are for connecting pipes for the boost adjuster and the injection pump Manifold Pressure Compensator.

Now let's see what it is like to fit with the IP in place :roll:

TIG :wink: (you can tell by the bead pattern, looks similar to oxy/acet and basically uses the same Technique/Manipulation)

I thought that it was, but have seen some mig joints rhat were pretty similar. They were done by spotting one fillet after the other.

Well spotted people, TIG indeed.

Not my handiwork I am afraid :(

The chap responsible does a fair bit of Ally and Stainless work and some quality polishing 8)
