Hi Alan, been away from the forum for a few years as was driving a Renault Vivaro but got my Transit back on the road so am back! you've come along way since I last read your thread and see your Day Van has become a lifetime looked on the Polish ebay for plastic welding machines and wondered if anything here is of interest to you http://allegro.pl/listing/listing.php?o ... aut-3-0629 1 pound sterling is 5.89 polish zloty Great work by the way
Hi sportscott, sorry, been really busy of late, thank you for your compliment. Work and weather has been getting in the way of working on the van and all of a sudden work dries up when I want the extra funds lol. Hope life has been treating you well
Sadly I didn't make North Weald this year, which was going to be my first event of the year, but I just couldn't get all the work done intime for the MOT which ended up being the week after. Thankfully the welding was collected very quickly by a friend of mine Nigel, at very short notice along with the MOT the following week. The rust on the end of the chassis wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, so after a clean up and some zinc, all was good. One thing I did notice cutting the front cross member off, is that all the waxoil had dropped off into a mass of cornflakes! Oh well all is done, a matter of painting and refitting everything
Been thinking the interior of the van has been looking very tired for the last few years, so Ive had a few ideas rolling about my head for a while plus some input from my better half Samantha, clever girl that she is, Ive started to rip everything out in stages starting with the roof. Spent quite a few hours on ebay looking for some new lighting and fabric, ordering samples etc.
Roof lining has looked like this for the last 10 years A bit of planning out then rip out
started on the new roof lining and electrics
Some white vinyl and a ton of LEDs
well, that's as far as Ive got so far, loads more timber to cut....
