Was in Germany today and seen in one of the big Hypermarkets, Chrome spray cans from Belton http://artprimo.com/catalog/spray-paint ... 26_63.html and it was quite cheap @ 3.50 euro for a small can 100ml and the biggest tin cost only 8.50 euro

paint anything with it alan
it's paint as paint is,
but its pukka regards chrome finish
apply chrome paint and then the sealer laquer over top

but it has to be done with high air pressure and low paint delivery
so it dusts onto the surface
sort of best described as you dust it on sort of,
in an almost dry state

same technique used for flip paint if you have used that before

Ive never painted with a full sized gun, but I have an air brush and compressor, way too large for the air brush but not big enough for a full sized set up... I do have a spray gun in the shed, that belongs to a mate, but I wouldnt have a clue how to use it
Maybe I should learn...
I did watch a video on a french website using chrome paint but its not working at the moment, I remember they put it on very lightly, what a amazing finish

ok you seen a vid,
this paint is the very same they use,
it will come out just like a mirror
applying it via an airbrush is fine,

dunno what type of airbrush you have
single or dual action,
but either way - plenty air pressure,
and slow paint delivery will result in it coming out the gun like a dry mist
make sure it goes on in real light coats,
do not apply it to give a wet coat as you would final coating of normal paint

follow the above
and you wont be too far from results your after

you want to try ceramic coating, you can get a perfect chrome finish with that.

no its not powder coating, its ceramic, withstands something like 700 degrees C, though the chrome finish is a bit lower. they use it to coat pistons as well

I've had to polish them on a weekly basis just to keep the rust at bay, but this winter has really killed them off, even when they are polished now they are looking VERY sorry for themselves :( No way can I afford to have them re-chromed, but I'm not sure paint will stick :?: May have to have them blasted first, but I havent got a spare set of wheels so I would have to have them done one at a time and use my spare :?

Nutty Nik who runs http://www.vanning.co.uk also had/has a company that could chrome anything as per his his post in the link below, although the site is dead you may be able to contact him though the vanning site as he had some very good examples of chromed items.

Not posted much about the van of late, but I have been busy... honest :D
Lots of tinkering around, had to have some welding done on the O/S door step, but I think I will have the panel replaced soon instead, thats if it still availalbe... Ive not checked yet. Lots of odds and sods for the mot etc, but passed with a few notes. One of them being a minor oil leak on the rear of the engine, Ive had a really good look, but I just can't see where it coming from. Everything is clean around the the injection pump, upto the filter housing, but I can't see more after that. I can see the cross member has oil on it on the left looking from the front. Im gonna try and get it jacked up this week coming, weather permitting :|
Anyway, collected my bumper yesterday, bolted the two sections together with stainless steel cap bolts and nuts which I was going to use for the rims, run a thin bead of sillicon between them, ready to bolt on. Ive got to sort out the wiring for the lamps yet, but keeps bleeding raining  Im itching to get the bumper on, but I need to look at the engine this week :( Ive set myself a few targets to get panels replaced and the van painted, but this is going to be a bit difficult when the van is in full service this summer. Oh well, heres a couple of pics.
