Yeh, for me to legally tow that , even empty behind an empty van, I'd need to get a trailer licence!

This was driven by someone with a standard car licence gained after 1997. Never again!

Missed all the banter on this thread for 10 days due to illness, now fit & ready to rant again...
Look forward to the storm when the Operator license laws kick in next year for over 3500kg vehicles, and millions of sole traders countrywide realize they've got no way of getting thereselves, materials and tools to the job in a suitable van/truck without a mountain of red tape and their Isuzu/Mitsu etc.has depreciated to £4.99.
The highways will be flooded with overloaded Trannys running the gauntlet to work every day..

havnt been on in a while & have only just noticed this threa/post & it interested me due to owning a recovery truck myself (some may have seen my build post)

im interested to know what this truck weighs empty??????????????????????????????? (my guess is 2.5ton)
also the length of the bed?????? (my guess is 16-17ft)

i have a mk5 truck with a 16ft steel body & lightest ive had it is 2.23 ton & theres allot more metal in urs then mine & i dont have the added flyover.

anyway its a very very nice truck & its been built proper (as is mine), the mk6's drive allot nicer but cost allot more if anything goes wrong, but we cant have it all!

while ur on the subject about being overweight, my pics may interest u!
