Thought it was gonna cost them money i guess. Anyhow its done now.

I bought some new indicator units some time back when they were a bargain ebay find, only trouble is i bought 2 right hand side ones :? And i have now chucked the old ones away, so has anyone got a left hand one to get me to the MOT station? I dont want to pay silly money for a new one, ide rather wait untill another bargain comes my way.

Any condition as long as it legal.

Ive decided that next week im going for a MOT so its time to put it all back together again. Its not 100%, mainly because ive run out of paint again and i cant get hold of the fella to order some more.

All the trim ive taken off i have been refurbing and painting with satin or gloss black, even the door cards but i used vinyl paint for that then satin black, as the vinyl paint has not much shine to it.

Before all of that i cut the paint back with Maguires Ultimate Compound, and it looks lovely. I was going to flat it back with 1200 grit paper first, but having no paint as a back up i decided i will do that at a later date and just compound it for now.

As you can see the bonnet still needs another coat as well as the door shuts and footwells etc, but over all im well pleased with it.

It has been a long 2 years and im scared to add up all the receipts i got

Lets hope next weeks post give me happy news with the MOT.

Any comments welcome.

To be honest Dave, i think it looks fab, would really like to see the inside as well. This thing about how much it all costs is complicated. From what i have seen you have made a camper that would cost 15k to replace...not sure these will ever get the vw recognition but there is a gap between v dubs and proper campers that this fits...

Best of luck with the mot :)

Thanks for the comments, ill take some pictures next week of the inside again, when ive cleared it out. Surprising how quickly it can turn into a shed when your not looking

I just insured it today with R H specialists, who i insure my other camper with, cost me the grand total of £188.00. They added that onto my other policy and the monthly repayments.

Ive booked the MOT for 11.00am on Sat, its going to feel real strange driving it on the road, as ive only driven it once in 2 years. I hope it dont breakdown

Here is a picture of the inside from a previous post.

O YEAH, IT PASSED THE MOT :!:

I didnt expect that

All his said was that the near side hand brake was was not working and there was a nail in the rear inner tyre.
He also said he would give me a ticket as going by the quality of work i had done so far he knew i would fix it, which was good of him as i had never been too that MOT station before as my regular station cannot do class 4.

So....for the very first time i could take it home.

While i was at home i decided to give it a good clean on the inside and take some new pictures of the inside.

Now its time to do all those little jobs in the van that ive been putting off, but need to do hand brake and re grease the king pins first, im also going to order a Accuspark electronic ignition as it works so well in my other van.
