Nightmare day I've had

MOT = FAIL :-)

001 Nearside front Anti-roll bar linkage fractured (2.4.g.1)

2 x Advisories
002 Slight play in both front wheel bearings
003 Both front upper inner arches corroded

Advisories not a problem, added them to my to do list
Arb link not a prob, just need to buy a new pair & fit them.

Left MOT center to get the pair of arb links & got about 400 yards up the road & the rear section of prop fell out
The front section & center bearing stayed fixed to bus, I must off not tightened the UJ bolt enough

U-shaped washer missing now I need to buy replacement if I can?

So need to get a U-shaped washer & refit propshaft correclty & check to see if the propshaft has been damaged in any way.
Buy a pair arb stabilizer drop links & fit them correctly as well.

So it's buses & trains & walking for me in the morning    as the nearest Ford van parts dealer I can find is at Lakeside, West Thurrock approx 15 miles away. Will try & find a closer one on the district line if I can in the morning.

Thanks for the info, will give Motek a ring when they open later today, so close to me (3m) can get a minicab

I can remove the front prop bit as did it earlier today, not sure about the rear
But cannot get to the cave with the exsisting prop as have no wheels, but can get train/walk if I leave the prop behind, catch 22

Motek deliver FOC

I'll see if I can get someone to remove the prop for you.

A back injury stops me rolling around under vans anymore :(

Got everything I needed from Fords for just £38.73
Even had a bargain on antifreeze so bought it to change at a later date, see my next post.

Sorted the Prop problem, just renewed the bolt, locktab & washer, cost less than £3 & Ford genuine parts :D
Sorted the arb link MOT failure problem, it was the stabilizer bar that was snapped, spent about 30 mins with spanner & scaffold bar  , then got fed up & got the 115mm angle grinder, 5mins later part was off. :D

Took 10 mins to put replacement in :D

Popped up the MOT center & PASSED it no hassle :D :D :D :D :D :D

Even had the cheek to ask them if the centre prop bolt was tight enough, it was not, they tightened if up correctly for me while the MOT was printing

Soon onto the engine bay as soon as I fit the chequer plate angle to the rear inside box arches I made earlier this morning whilst awaiting the captain's response

Great news re pass, Arse re the bother you had but consider this,

If the prop jumped out on motorway, with all ya family in, we might not be posting threads here now,
So on the upside of your pain, it probably saved your lives man!
