Thanks mate I've looked over most tbh. Most I've read have changed the scuttle. Was looking at yours because I think it's prob the best ice seen.

I think I'm gonna get my mk6 up here tomoz and whip the front end off it. Suppose holding the panels up etc will point me in the right direction

I trawled round the breakers for ages looking at both stripped down before I plucked up the courage to set about mine, it was a good place to compare both together :D

Stephen fergusons thread was helpful too, viewtopic.php?f=13&t=92888

when i got the inner wings and scuttle for my conversion, i got second hand ones, not many transits in scrap yards out here in OZ, the guy i got them from took them off for me, i dont think he realised what was involved, luckilly i paid for them before he started, he also broke the windscreen when he got the scuttle out.

looneyfitter, Check out my thread in members transits gallery (OZZY transit) there is a pic of all the parts he took off for me.

i would particularly like to know how much (exactly) you cut off the front of the chassis before you weld on the MK7 front bumper mounting brackets, as the guy has cut them off the MK7 he had and i cant find any in scrap yards to measure. Stupid me (should hove measured them before they were cut.) So pics of before and after would be great, not just for me but for all the other guys that are thinking of doing it, that is the biggest draw back for me.

I cut the new scuttle down and fitted just bellow the screen, I honestly can't remember how much I cut off the legs, but I measured it off a mk7, it depended on how it's measured( inside or outside) as the 6 has angled ends and 7 has square ends :?

So it's about 15mm on the outside, and a lot more on the inside

I've read on one of the threads that there's no need to cut legs. You can mod the bar to fit

Yeah, just spot welded on to it, and seam sealed, I'll see if I can dig some more pics up, but I needed it for work the next day  so forgot to take a lot!

It's no a great pic, but it's just the u-shaped bracket that supports the bottom of the linkage unit and bolts to the scuttle :D it's my original motor and linkage
