got em off a m8 £30 each but he did me 2 for £50. bit pricey but theyre made by phillips so theyre not cheap sh*t theyre industrial lighting units supposed to be 24v but they got regulators in em and these ones work on 12v!

Well had a little play with the wiring again today, now have working central locking. well both doors lock and unlock from drivers side but currently passenger door wont unlock drivers door. think this is cos i cut a red power wire earlier before fully6 finished as drivers door was cycling thru lock/unlock. think it was cos passenger door wasnt earthed.
will re join wire tomo and see if both sides unlock.

an well chuffed cos i bastardised an old fuse block

took out the terminals and managed to chop enough to fit inside the factory fuse box in the van, using spare fuse slots.

note locking tabs. impossible so far to extract without getting destructive

looks good and makes sense.
the connectors i used were bit bigger than the ford ones in the fuse box... anyone know if these are ford part (the bit you would attach wire to then jam into fuse box from behind so fuse can plug in from front) or can these be sourced elsewhere?

BEEN BUSY!!!

Here and there, over last few weeks (mainly weekend of North Weald on the saturday,very very early) i been tinkering with my newly acquired toys.....

Tim (Dieselhead123) sorted me out a few Leccy Window switches, which now all illuminate!(and work!!)

ignition on



At some point soon ill take a feed from interior step light circuit, bang it onto a relay and wire it so i can operate windows when doors are open without key in ignition, just like my old beemer! take 5 mins once i got a relay and a decend rated diode to stop back flow to rest of ignition switched appliances!! JUST A SNIP lol and some soldering!

Whilst wiring up the leccy windows i fitted a Switch for "Kelnow" fan wired to ignition switched busbar(bottom right, few spare slots in fusebox)


and on...



was a long time deciding to have manual switch or thermal switch, might even do it sometime, but shop had these, and was a fast fix ...

The fan actually works great and was literally fitted in ten minutes, plus longer to wire. Comes with these funny rounded Zip-Ties that pass thru fins in rad! Result. Also come with brackets so i used a few of these too to top of rad!





Seeing as the viscous fan commited suicide on the day of North Weald, Tony (Mobilevanman) kindly f*** the damn thing off for me with a bloody big hammer and a chunky spanner!

Now theres like mabey ONE horsepower back lol



The powersteering pump bracket also vandalised itself (nothing to do with burnouts or drag racing, honest!)

the extra power on the last 2 runs was unbelieveable i hit max rpm soo much faster! will defo take belt off next time, was heavy but not undrivable especially if booting it! HEEHEHEH

I treated meself to a new CB last month as ive been watching it for ages then its better one up came along, cheaper than the actual one i was gonna get ! Touch!





Only chose this make because its good but more importantly has Roger Beep AND it has a PA Output...which leads me to this...
100W horn and 100WRMS Amplifier that last saw life in a special kind of vehicle

Been bitching about overtightening the allen bolts on my release thingy for the steering wheel... couldnt get it off again!
Would you adam and eve it? some daft cnut was only turning the ring the wrong way

Cheers dude, still a long way from finished but its fun getting there!

ordered full rebuild set of gaskets for the "beastie" last night so rebuild shall commence soon ish ...

As i keep being reminded ill be a dad in a few weeks so i might have to postpone on doing stuff for a while but its all in the pipeline and ill keep dreaming

Ebay dude! what i will say is check how deep your wheel is. i got lcky in guesstimating wheel, hub and snap off boss total thicknesses- wheel correct distance from my face, have seen others who have wheel a lot nearer than normal as dished wheel was used!
beware!

ps my wheel is about 8 inch! like driving dodgems i love it !

Looking good so far

Got a couple of things for you to think about.....

Firstly, thermoswitch for the rad fan.....

have a look on X-Eng (sell off roading stuff)

£36 for thermoswitches that fit inline....
You might get them cheaper on ebay.....




Secondly, power steering.....

Rather than running a belt driven pump, you could fit an electric PAS pump.....
you could wire it into a switch to turn assistance on/off

So when your drag racing, you could disable the pas to reduce load on the engine

and you could also have pas without the engine running

it was LOADS faster revving up and last night took up some slack in the throttle cable linkage so maybe i wasnt gettin full throttle? will find out soon !

yeah cheers for that, the passenger door switch lit up when i swapped the drivers side passenger switch!?! dont make sense as i ran a power feed to the passenger door too but who cares it works!

well chuffed !

hopefully be wiring windows to work with door open and no key today!
