Re: newbie saying hi swb 80 project

Postby spudmab » Tue May 06, 2008 10:53 am

had a good day on the van, i love bank holidays the other half was around to look after the dogs and give my a hand when i need it,

had a re-think about the kitchen area and pulled it all apart and started again,

i think this looks better and the flame from the cooker is not so close to the frame work as it was before, and fitted the sink at last, (just needs plumming in)

i ran out of screws so no more done but i think its now taking shape,

any comments

i take it that no one gives a s**t about my project,

it a shame as i have loads of ideas that i dont mind sharing, like the fitting of the small switch gear and how tro wire it up,

i have als just started to make a new front bumper for the van, and i am working out how to sort the rear bumper out to make it look lower,

oh well looks like i will be the only one that reads this post and the only one to reply, :(

You've managed to fit a sink and a cooker in that small gap?
Christ!
Ive got a 120 swb, and that gap is TINY!

How many cups can you fit in the sink before its full? :D
Whats the hob powered from? Gas bottles under the sink I assume...

i must say sorry to everyone

it just i was having a bad day, doing all this work and showing the ideas i have and getting no feedback was just starting to get me down,

as for the cooker it will be run on a gas bottel that i have fitted under the work top between the sink and the cooker, i have to sort out the ventting issue,

i will put some pics of the front bumper and explain what i am doing a bit later,

i have lloked around and i cant seem to find a bumper that i can use so i thought sod it i will try to make my own one and looking at alan n's bumper i had to try something, cause that looks the, mut's nut, really liking it,

its a shame the mk3/4 bumper is different to the mk5 one or i would have done the same, well done alan.

No worries mate - I've been there before, as have many people :)
It's not particularly enjoyable when you put so much time into doing something, and no one seems to take an interest. But like the other guys say, just because no one is posting, it doesn't mean they don't care or aren't interested; it just means they haven't written anything.

I'm taking quite an interest in this van - I have one of the same size and need ideas for converting a future vehicle to a camper :)

well it all started by taking the old bumper of,

and trying to see how i could change it about,

and then i tryed to fit it but lower down, so i settled on dropping the bumper down 4inches,

then i cut another bumper 4inches from the top and fitted that in place

then i cut some old bumper down to 5mm strips to use as filler rod,

and then started weld the two bumpers togeather,

then i put some filler on it but i have run out of filler so that is it so far,

it looks really low, what do you lot think
