Got my wide-boy wellers fitted now; theres some pics on the Transitmania thread; just fitted a K&N cone filter, wow!! What a difference! I'll put some more photos up soon!

Hi folks! Just a quick update; I removed the K&N filter because although it worked a treat, it was just tooooo loud above 60mph!!
Im now toying with the idea of copying TransitTrevs connect style rear wheel arches to cover my 7" Wellers; those arches look the bizz when colour coded
Now; what colour to paint my van?? Thinking of white and blue, kind of Ford Motorsport colours; what do you good people think?

Two of the wheels are 6x14 and the other two are 7x14(for the rear naturally)
think I'll fit 205/60s to the front and 205/70s to the rear; will maybe paint the spokes black and the rims silver; what do you recon??

I'd have fitted 225s or 235s on the rears personally

I'd have liked to have fitted 235's myself mate; but the trouble is with my (wide!) mk5 rear axle they stick out enough already!
But if I fit those connect rear arches then I'll be able to fit some wider tyres then; plus Ive made some wheel spacers too!

quick update: van flew through the mot this week with no problems; I only had to replace two brake pipes so Im dead chuffed!
And the mot tester said that it was the tidiest mk5 he'd seen; referring to the underneath! Nice one!

Right; time for a long overdue update!
Unfortunately I had a very nasty accident in the van 3 months ago and wrote it completely off; so I wont be able to attend Transitmania this year. Such a pity really; because the old van had given me alot of enjoyment and was finally completed and looking great.
I count my blessings that I wasnt more badly injured during the crash; and would like to sincerely thank all the people who sent well wishes during my recovery.
So; sadly I wont see all you guys at Transitmania but I wish you all a great time and good weather! Enjoy the party!

Hi Mark, sorry to hear about your accident. Are you getting another van, did you manage to salvage all your mods?

Hi Alan! Sorry for the very late reply!
Im fully recovered now and I'd like to get another van sometime; unfortunately finances are nonexitant at the moment!
I wasnt able to save any of the bits from my van sadly; I was too bashed up and on crutches for a while so simply couldnt do anything about it. It was sad to see what had been a lovely old van go to the scrappers; but I wasnt able to do anything about it at the time!
I might post some photos of the wreckage sometime; but it aint a pretty sight!
