as for mounting the passenger seat , just use another drivers side base thats what i did when i put two single car seats in.

thanks for that grey van man had a look today and need to get some flat bar but looks easy

so moved on to the engine
had to cut the torque coverter of as the bolts rounded off
found the spacer plate i need so just got to get a spigot bearing now
also will test fit the plate tomorrow

and finally can anyone recommend which way to fit the gear box

1) take the di and box together and fit box to 24v then put complete unit in
2) leave the box in and try! and fit the engine to the box in the van

I would go with option 1
But wait and see what the others say

I would go with the first option as well, at least that way you wont get the engine in and find that the box dont fit

yeah agree with the removable front panel makes it easier both together!!

Did not do anything with the engine this week end! was too hot!!!
but i did do the drivers seat, was very easy!!!
brought some flat bar from b&q cut it to the width of the recaro
drilled the holes to bolt the seats to the bar
then placed the seat into the van and marked the rear hole from the frame to the bar
measured the front bar and welded two tee pieces to it then marked for the holes, then filed the cut out for the height adjuster
all that was left was to bolt it down!
took about 2 hours all in and it is very comfy!

also did a bit of body work, delocked the passenger door then got carried away and made a start on the wheel arch, still need some work

started on the loom this weekend
got allthe wires, but 4
just need to identifiy these then it can go in the loom was quite easy realy
i have a good idea what the 4 wires left do just need to confirm it

just found out what the four wires are 3 where kick down for the auto
and one was the brake on/brake off for the auto
all four not used

also have the spigot bearing on order so that the spacer can be sent away for machining
still no luck at getting the broken studs out though

finally got my spacer and bearing back today after them having it for two weeks!!
cant complain only cost me £6.50
also they can copy my engine plate
all i need now is a spare mt75 to check it all fits together then the di can come out

had a good weekend with my van
1)got the broken studs out of the 24v head using stud extractors
2)finished fitting the front recaros
3)hicube very kindly lent me a mt75 for half an hour and i test fitted it to the 24v, all looks good fitted ok and spacing looks about right

think i have found the answer to my fuel pump problem

If you get that pump then all well and good Tony, but if you dont then not to worry, the pump and filter on my V6 is from a Cavalier 2.0 injection I believe and it never runs out of steam! Not even at 115mph

yeah there is a mk 2 rs2000 with a v6 in it running on a cav pump
had a quick phone around today, was it from a mk 3 cav?
also how much would you expect to pay for the cav pump
